In the middle of our 2nd foundation repair. This unit was sinking in the area of that corner of the house you see in the pics. Those rectangular devices you see under the foundation in the 1st Pic lifted and now support the foundation. The large cracks inside closed up. Concrete will be poured tomorrow to help secure that area from any further movement. Then on to the next one.

Foundation work began on a 2nd unit this week. Several more residents are waiting for work or assessment.
Tree guy came to make a list of needed work. Its a long list. Board is waiting for a price. Work will probably start in a few weeks.

A preliminary cement list has been made. We will do as much as we can with the money available.

Welcome to all our new neighbors. Please keep your dogs leashed so all feel safe.

Please get approval for any outside modifications to your units. The Board and the City can remove if not approved and Permitted !

Wanted you to see the current foundation repair going on. There were 2 large cracks under her door and several inside. The door had moved away from the frame and the floor from the wall. The right side of the house was raised. Cracks closed. The door and frame have to be replaced. The company will encase part of the foundation in cement on Monday and fill in the excavated area. Work was delayed due to a machine breaking but the job will be done soon. The cost is $12,000.

We have contracted for 2 more jobs that will start as soon as this 1 is complete. And about 4 other residents waiting to have theirs looked at. If we can find another foundation company we can trust we could move faster but we havnt found one yet.

We have held off other work to get an idea of how much we will be spending on foundations. We will be doing some cement and more tree work for sure and go from there.

On the evening of July 4, 200 printed copies are made to be sent to the 13 states, generals, etc. These are known as the Dunlap Broadsides. There are 26 known surviving copies. Pic on top right.

On July 19, an official handwritten copy of the Declaration was created. Most of the 56 signed this on August 2nd. The public didn't see this official version till 1823. It sits in a climate controlled case at the National Archives.

It was a catalyst for the spread of democracy and equality across the world.

A resident on Wheelers gets repeated deliveries to his house that aren't his. Many of these are food orders without any address on them. He has no way of knowing who it belongs to.

Joanne and I attended a presentation by NOACA updating the status of a possible solution to the traffic in the Mall/Howe rd area.

They studied 6 different scenarios. Their conclusion was :
UPGRADING THE 82 INTERCHANGE
PUTTING AN INTERCHANGE AT DRAKE RD
CREATING A CD ROAD TO HOWE RD

were the 3 best options. The controversial INTERCHANGE AT BOSTON RD seems to be eliminated as an option.

NOACA will focus on those 3 options and update the plan in the fall.
