🚨 RED FLAG WARNING TODAY 🚨

Critical fire weather conditions are expected across parts of western Oklahoma this afternoon and evening.

The National Weather Service has issued a RED FLAG WARNING from 1 PM to 9 PM CDT today due to a dangerous combination of extreme heat, very low humidity, and strong winds.

🔥 WHAT TO EXPECT:
• 🌡️ Temperatures up to 106°+
• 💨 South winds 15–20 MPH, gusting up to 30 MPH
• 💧 Relative humidity as low as 14%
• 🌾 Extremely dry fuels across western Oklahoma

These conditions can lead to rapid fire growth and extreme fire behavior. A small spark can quickly turn into a fast-moving wildfire.

PLEASE DO YOUR PART TODAY:
❌ Avoid outdoor burning
❌ Avoid activities that could create sparks
❌ Don’t park or drive through tall, dry grass
❌ Properly dispose of ci******es
✅ Report any wildfire or smoke immediately

With wildfire activity already increasing across western Oklahoma, today is NOT the day to take chances.

State highway 47 is closed 2 1/2 miles west of jct hwy 47/hwy 34(Leedey Jct) due to hazmat accident. No eta on reopening please avoid the area

The Strong City Rural Water District will be repairing a leak in front of the community building this Friday July 10th. The water system will be shut off due to this being a main line repair. Will post more information when it is available.
