A person who ran year-round just because. He started with outdoor track and field. But he noticed that his times could be a little better so he began to run around his neighborhood to increase his endurance. This shows that he was willing to go the extra mile to achieve his goals. ring the winter time. He literally ran all year long. Not because he had too, but because he wanted to. The people in his neighborhood would see him always jogging with his headphones on, waving as he passed them by. Aside from his running, James was also a person that people looked forward to being around. He was literally the life of the party. He made everyone laugh wherever he went. He brought out nothing but smiles from all of his friends. And if you weren’t his friend then you haven’t met yet. His magnetic personality relaxed the most rigid of souls. The most well mannered child you would ever meet was in the slender body of the funniest, kind hearted, caring, dog loving, boy with the best smile, sense of humor, and charisma. James was literally the perfect child. No one no matter what age they were, color, economic background, could say one word negative about the man that James was about to become. Unfortunately this beautiful life was cut short by the actions of money hungry criminals. They got their hands on him and pushed till he felt that he couldn’t take the pressure. James was being cyberbullied. The culprits extorted money from him, mentally tortured him, threatened him, and harassed him over and over and over till James was exhausted from lack of sleep. Every avenue that could be thought of was tried so that his parents wouldn’t have to learn of the embarrassing acts that took place. His last resort was that of the ultimate price, his life. On November 19, 2022 James took his life to stop the pain that was tormenting him. One could only hope that James knows with the upmost of certainty that he was/is loved, adored and cherished more than the most priceless of ancient artifacts. May James rest in peace knowing that he will be missed by his parents (Tamia and Timothy Woods), family, friends, and everyone that he touched. James Timothy Woods Legacy:
With the help of Streetsboro Police Department, James’ parents found out fast that he (James) became a victim of sextortion and immediately went into action to help other parents not join them in their feeling of hurt and help educate children on the different avenues to take if they ever became victims of sextortion. On November 21, 2022 Tamia and Timothy Woods went to Streetsboro High School to speak of James’ truth and to help guide them into knowing that they are worth living and nothing is too large of a task to help save their lives. Timothy and Tamia began working with the Streetsboro Police Department, Superintendent, Streetsboro High School and all news networks that would listen to their son’s story and warn parents about this invisible evil. The response of the community was overwhelming and as the word continued to spread, Tamia and Timothy knew that their decision of an immediate call to action was needed. On January 13, 2023 James’ parents founded a nonprofit organization called the Do It For James Foundation that caters around the need to continue to be the microphone and warn others. The Do It For James Foundation will not only host speaking engagements to warn others and encourage communication between children and adults, but also give children a helping hand in battling evil and lifting their talents. As the foundation grows, it will help the underserved, assist with mental health needs and provide scholarships for runners (Cross Country and Track & Field). Like James, the foundation will continue to run year-round giving life, providing love, educating and Doing it all for James.
