Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief is ceasing operations in Streator. They cleared the way for linemen to get to hard to reach places, cleaned debris from several yards and ministered the love of Christ to families. And now that their work here is done, they move on.
Thank them, and pray for them.
What they do is tiring mentally and physically and spiritually.
Thank you to New Beginnings Baptist Church for hosting the team in their facilities and for preparing breakfasts and suppers for them.

Affected by the recent tornado? Assistance is available!

Residents impacted by last week's tornado are encouraged to attend the Multi-Agency Resource Center on Thursday, June 18, from 1-8 p.m. at Northlawn Junior High School (202 E 1st St. Streator, IL).

Representatives from several state agencies and partner organizations will be available to provide assistance, answer questions, and connect residents with available resources. Information will be available regarding recovery programs, loan opportunities, replacement of important documents, insurance-related questions, veteran services, aging services, and other recovery needs.

The American Red Cross will also be on-site to provide assistance and connect residents with additional recovery and support services.

If you or someone you know was affected by the tornado, we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to meet directly with agencies and organizations that are here to help. Thank you to LaSalle County Emergency Management Agency and American Red Cross of Illinois for assisting in the coordination of this event.

There’s a lot to do. Please keep everyone in your prayers!

We are humbled and thankful to partner with Erven Avenue Baptist Church to host the Illinois Baptist Disaster Relief team this week! This team will be helping in the cleanup efforts of the affected areas throughout the week.

If you live outside the primary recovery area but your property was impacted by the tornado and you need assistance with cleanup, please leave a comment below. We would be glad to connect with you and see how we can help.

Greetings,

What a wild week Streator has had.

I have been working with TRBA and IBSA to get a Disaster Relief team here to assist with clean-up and recovery.

I called City Hall and left our (EABC) information.

I have now been contacted by Streator Public Works about a Disaster Relief team or volunteers helping with debris removal/cleanup beginning Monday at 8:00 AM.

Volunteers should go to City Hall and tell them you are with Erven Avenue Baptist Church to get your "permit."

I have also been in contact with IBSA Disaster Relief Coordinator, Glen Carty, and he is trying to organize a team to come up and help.

As many of you may have seen, you can also make donations to help those affected at The Elks on the second floor.

It may also be possible that you have a personal friend that you can help. This is a great way to be the hands and feet of Jesus, and salt and light in our crazy sin-filled world.
