Thank you Jack Schuler, attorney at Safe Journeys/ADV & SAS, for visiting and talking about business law. As young entrepreneurs, it's important to have a general understanding of business law. Jack explained the difference between business associations, including partnerships, sole proprietorships and LLCs, etc. He also talked about contracts, business liability and the distinction between employees vs. independent contractors. Overall, we learned what to be aware of, the importance of getting agreements in writing and preparing/planning in case of a business dissolution. We also appreciate the scenarios he shared with us to give us an understanding of how all of these issues play out in the real world.

Next week, on May 9th, from 10am to Noon, we invite you to a wellness focused tabling fair being held in the library's downstairs meeting room, where local groups will be set up to discuss what resources they offer and how they can help you live your life to the fullest. There will also be plenty of freebies and maybe even a giveaway or two...

For the final day of we wanted to share 4 tips for supporting the survivors of sexual assault in your life and community:

1) Listen to understand, not to respond when talking to a survivor about their trauma. Focus on what they're saying in order to empathize and hear the survivor, not to have a solution or the "right" answer.
2) Tell them it's not their fault - because it isn't. No survivor deserves to be abused or is at fault for being assaulted.
3) Use your voice! Look into how you can send in support slips for survivor centered legislation or educate yourself on trauma informed care (you can ask us for tips!)
4) Our mission is to empower survivors of domestic and sexual violence and ensure that violence is eradicated from our communities. We need your help to do so, whether you want to volunteer your time with our events, join our team as an advocate, or support us through donations of supplies for our shelter.

A sexual violence-free world is possible - we just have to do it together💙
