Spring Clean-Up Week begins Monday, April 27! 🌷🧹Have extra household trash to get rid of? On your regular garbage collection day, Groot will collect unlimited amounts of trash during this special collection. Please note, the following items will not be accepted:
🚫 Yard waste
🚫 Electronics
🚫 Household hazardous waste

Residents may also place out up to 2 cubic yards of construction or remodeling debris.

For a complete list of acceptable items during regular collection and Spring Clean-Up Week, visit the Village’s website.

♻️ Skip the bin and join us for SEED! 🌎 Come to Streamwood Environmental Education Day on Saturday, April 25, from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Village Hall, 301 E. Irving Park Rd. for a fun, free event full of recycling, learning, and community spirit!

Bring your:
🔋 Used household batteries for safe disposal
📺 Old electronics and TVs for recycling
📄 Sensitive documents for shredding
💊 Unused prescription medications for drop-off

You can also:
🌱 Learn about gardening, conservation, and native plantings
🦉 Grab free Woodsy Owl “Skip the Bin” swag
📸 Take photos with Woodsy Owl
✅ Get safety tips on proper battery disposal

👍Accepted batteries: AA, AAA, 9V, C, D, button cells, and removable rechargeable batteries
🚫 Not accepted: car batteries, vapes, e-bike/scooter batteries, or batteries left in devices

It’s back!! Mark your calendar 📅

Join our Cultural and Environmental Awareness Commission for our annual SEED event on Saturday, April 25 from 10 AM-2 PM. Drop off your old electronics and televisions for recycling in our special collection bin (located in the parking lot behind Village Hall) and shred those sensitive documents too!

Step inside the Police Department and visit with Woodsy Owl. Get some Woodsy “Skip the Bin” swag and learn about safely disposing of batteries. Drop off old or unused prescription medicines and learn about the benefits of gardening, conservation, and native plantings. This event is always free.

🤝 NEXT MONTH! On Thursday, April 23, from 9AM to 12 PM, Hanover Township Aging Services is excited to partner with Elgin Community College and other local non-profit and government organizations for the annual Thrive Over 55 Fair! 🎉

• Browse booths from local businesses and organizations offering products, services, and information focused on the needs and interests of those 55 and older.
• Health Screenings including blood pressure monitoring, stroke risk assessments, and blood sugar screenings.
• Snacks and beverages will be available for purchase.

🚌 Transportation will provide bus service to the event with pickup from the Senior Center at 9AM and a return bus at 11AM.
