SquareWrights Group has amassed over a hundred productions and staged readings in collaboration with area actors, directors and community services.

SquareWrights Playwright Group was born in 2004 in Stratford, CT. Since its inception the group, together with area actors and directors, has amassed well over a hundred productions and staged readings. Among its credits are more than 25 "Quickies" short-play festivals, the 24-hour Fast Forward Theatre Festival, numerous staged readings, theatrical fundraisers for Tsunami and Katrina victims, the

Stratford Summer One-Act Festival (on the grounds of the Shakespeare theater), and bi-monthly scene nights. In addition, the group has collaborated with the Stratford Arts Commission, the Stratford Arts Guild, the Temple Players of Stratford, Eastbound Theatre of Milford, Playhouse on the Green of Bridgeport, Bridgeport Theatre Company, and The Blackstone Players of Branford. SquareWrights members have been represented at the prestigious Samuel French Festival of Short Plays in New York City and in theater festivals around the country from North Carolina and Georgia to Massachusetts and Alaska. Several members have had their works that originated with SquareWrights published. Members hail from Stamford to the south, Guilford and East Haven to the north and several points in between, with a core group based in Stratford.
