Member's of the O'Brien-Sheridan family was invited to the Strive-Rise Pizza Pal's luncheon supported by the @ Judy O'Brien Scholarship fund via a BEST mini grant.

The scholarship fund was able to support this event by working through Stratford's BEST Business Education Support Team.
The student's worked hard to organize the event, calculate monies needed for the event, invited guest, greeted us as we arrived and gave a speech to welcome everyone to Villa Pizzeria Ristorante Bar Stratford CT.

In the spirit of Judy's teaching style the student's had FUN while planning and executing the event.

BEST Committee

The Stratford Chamber of Commerce founded the BEST (Business Education Support Team) Committee over 25 years ago as a way for businesses to give back to our local school system through mini-grants. These mini-grants are awarded to teachers in the Stratford school system for grades K-12 and are used to provide students with different tools, equipment or programs that otherwise would not be funded.

The mini-grants awarded range anywhere from $50 to $5,000 and can affect anywhere from one class room of students to an entire school.

“What I enjoy most about being involved in the BEST Committee is seeing how far our teachers can stretch a dollar. It is awesome to hear some of the stories about how a mini-grant as small as $50 can have an impact on over 200 students,” said Ryan Kelly, a Board Member on the Committee.

Over the past 25+ years, the BEST Committee has raised over $400,000 in mini-grants for the Stratford Public School system and we are looking to keep that tradition moving forward. For more information on BEST, please contact us on Facebook, or email Joan Law, [email protected].
