Lancaster County Art Association Founded in 1936 in the city of Lancaster, the LCAA is a non-profit art association with an emphasis on community service and teaching art.

LCAA's mission is to celebrate & promote the visual arts through the shared experience of exhibition, education & activities with artists, patrons and the community. For eighty-one years the Lancaster County Art Association has provided art classes, workshops, special programs, exhibition opportunities, and fellowship for artists of all skill levels. Beginning and professional artists, adults and

children, have opportunities to develop their skills, exhibit artwork, and attend exhibits and events. The LCAA's mission is:
To serve as a gathering place for visual artists. To provide visual artists with opportunities to improve their skills. To give visual artists a place to exhibit their works for viewing by the public. The LCAA moved to Strasburg, Pennsylvania in 1998. Just a few miles east of Lancaster, Strasburg has a main street lined with beautiful examples of nineteenth century Pennsylvania architecture. Strasburg is also known for the Strasburg steam railroad which is a popular attraction for everyone who loves trains. Membership Categories:
Junior (16 -22): $25/yr. Regular (23-64): $45/yr. Senior (65 and older): $40/yr.

Attention Artists!
Join us for our next challenge this fall. The 90/90 Challenge is an artistic event that challenges artists to complete an artwork in a 90 minute session. Cash Awards will be given in each session on Oct. 9 & 10 and a $200 Best of Show at the end of the event. Our goal is to have 90 pieces or more created during the 2 day event to celebrate our 90th year!
Check out the details below and on the attached form.
* Each session is 90 minutes, work must be started and finished during that time.
* 15 minutes before to set up, 15 minutes after to clean up.
* Work in any medium, any size or subject matter. Indoor or outside (plein air).
* We have tables, easels, etc. available or you may use your own.
* Artist Entry Fee: $25 per session. You may do as many sessions as you like.
* Awards: A $100 First Place & a $25 Honorable Mention given in each session. A $200 Best of Show given at the end of the show. Awards will be voted on by the public attending. Free Admission.
* Sessions: Friday, Oct 9, 2-3:30pm, 4-5:30pm, & 6-7:30pm - Saturday, Oct. 10, 10-11:30am, 12-1:30pm & 2-3:30pm
* Sign up early to reserve your session, table or easel. There is a limited number of artists per session. Send in your form as soon as possible.
* Artists may enter their piece(s) in the 90/90 Challenge Exhibit during the Autumn Daze Exhibit. No entry fee.
Sponsors & Supporters Needed
We are looking for individual or business sponsors for this event. Consider helping the LCAA make this a successful fundraiser by your donation, or passing on the attached letter and form to local businesses.
* Sponsor a session - $150, or Co-Sponsor at $75, or Sponsor our Best of Show Award at $200.
* Sponsors will be listed in our program, on signs, our website, Facebook, etc.
* Supporters - Donations of $25 or more, or gift cards, merchandise in that amount or more.
* LCAA Supporters will be listed on the event program.
* Fill out the attached form today!

Summer is almost over and our Summer Challenge Exhibit is coming to a close. Our Evening Reception with Awards Announced will be held Friday, Aug. 28, 6-8pm. You still have a chance to vote for your favorites from 6-7pm, and awards will be announced at 7:30pm. Come and see who were the favorite artists and most popular medium! We will also have the drawing for the Carol Herr oil painting "The Back Porch" chosen.
Pick Up: Artists may pick up their work from the show at 8pm, after the reception. You may also pick up Sat. & Sun. Aug. 29, 30, and Thurs. & Fri. Sept. 3, 4. You can also pick up during the drop off for the Fall Membership Show, Sept. 11,12,13.
Note: The LCAA will be closed Labor Day Weekend, Sat. & Sun. Sept. 5 & 6.

Join us on August 21 for Open Studio at the Lancaster County Art Association in Strasburg! Each month, our gallery opens its doors from 5–8 PM for an evening of art, community, and creativity.
Stop in to check out "Anything Goes", the final theme of our current exhibit, Summer Challenge: Media Wars. Then head over to the classroom for Open Studio, where creatives of all kinds gather to work on their current or new projects in a relaxed, welcoming space. Bring your own supplies, snacks, and drinks — and settle in for a few hours of focused creating alongside others who share your passion.
Whether you're working on a piece of your own, looking to mingle with fellow artists, or simply curious to see what the local creative community is up to, Third Fridays is the perfect low-key way to connect. No pressure, no agenda — just art, conversation, and good company.
All ages are welcome! Please note that minors under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.

Summer marches on! You have till the evening of Friday, August 28, to see ALL of the entries to the Summer Challenge Exhibit and vote on your favorites with the “Anything Goes” pieces now added to the exhibit. Voting Ballots are $5 each or 3 for $10. Awards will be presented at the Closing Reception on August 28 from 6 to 8pm. Voting ends at 6:30pm on Friday, August 28. Don’t miss the final count at 7:00pm when the winning media and artists will be announced. At 7:30pm we will have the drawing for the winner of the Carol Herr oil painting!

Ice Cream Day at the LCAA!
It's way too hot! Come out to the LCAA on Sun. Aug. 9, 1-4pm and cool down with free ice cream! You can make your own sundae with our selection of delectable goodies - chocolate & caramel sauce, peanut butter cups, oreos, M&M's, brownies, fruit, whipped topping and of course cherries for on top!
You can view the outstanding work in the Summer Challenge: Media Wars Exhibit! Even if you have been to the show earlier, we have lots of new work with our "Catch A Wave" theme. You can vote for your favorites and be entered into the drawing to win the original oil painting by Carol S. Herr.
In addition, the winners will be announced in our Children's Coloring Contest, on display in the classroom.

Pick up the coloring page at the LCAA during gallery hours or grab one tonight from our booth at National Night Out!

We will be awarding three lucky little artists at our Ice Cream Day in the gallery on Sunday August 9th. All coloring submissions for the contest must be dropped off at LCAA by Saturday August 8th. Three winners will be announced and presented with their awards at 2pm on August 9th. The awards will be presented for:
1. Most Creative
2. Most Colorful
3. Most Realistic.
Winners will each take home a 335 piece art kit that includes a built in mini easel, drawing pads, coloring books, origami paper, oil pastels, pens, watercolors, pencils, stickers, and much more! See less
