"Swinehart envisions the property as a working farm offering educational programs for schools and the community on agriculture and food systems — not as an agritourism site.

'Ag is all around, but for the average person they just see it from the roadside,' he said.

He believes offering the community first-hand exposure to agriculture will also help people understand why permanent farmland preservation is important."

There are many types of BMPs, and you can spot them on farms preserved with LFT! For this week's blog, we're sharing a simple guide to our most common BMPs used on farms to help paint a better picture on how this technical work creates a larger impact on our local waterways.
