Strasburg Fire and Rescue

Strasburg Fire and Rescue Strasburg Rural Fire Department is a volunteer organization in Strasburg North Dakota. We currently have around 20 active firefighters with various experience.

History of the Department

The fire department was organized in 1909, exact date not known. Some of the first equipment purchased were water pails. After some time, they invested in two water tanks mounted on large wheels. These tanks were pulled to fire sites. The department had the first motorized fire truck in Emmons county. It was a 1922 W.S. Nott open-cab model and is displayed next to the fire department building today.

Just to let you know how bad it is out there. The Strasburg Fire Department reminds you to play it safe. Anyone of these three weather statements are bad enough alone but to be all issued at the same time really compounds things. Remember it takes so little to start a fire even without the conditions we are dealing with right now. Be safe don't do anything unnecessary and please please report smoke or fire right away. In conditions like these every second counts. Thanks again and stay safe 🙏

Please take note!

A Red Flag Warning means critical fire weather conditions are occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.

For those who do or do not know, Strasburg Fire and Rescue will be adding on to our existing building starting very soon. This space is much needed with the upgrading and additional equipment and units. At there monthly meeting the Strasburg Lions Club made a Major Donation to the Strasburg Fire District which will allow Strasburg Fire and Rescue to add all the additional space we hoped in order to secure the safety of our Volunteer Firefighters and also help with our response when called out. Words cannot express the gratitude of the entire Strasburg Fire and Rescue Department to the Strasburg Lions Club for there generosity. We again Thank them and are excited for a prosperous and growing future for Strasburg Fire and Rescue.
