Each time I step out into my garage I am overwhelmed by the amount of craft stuff that I have "collected" over the years. There is a reason that I have to park outside. I made a decision a few months ago that I will get rid of things that I never seem to use anymore and only use items and craft supplies that I have in my embarrassingly large stash. I won't be buying anything new other than things like tape/glue in order to complete projects. I never imagined myself saying this, but I haven't missed the craft stores yet. I have really enjoyed digging through my stuff finding some new and some old treasures I had forgotten about. I was so pleased with some of the projects I completed. Here are just a few of my favorite Christmas crafts/gifts from last month.
I made bunch of super cute little bags with kraft paper and twine that we filled with hot chocolate packets and candy canes. They made a nice little gift for some special church friends.
Here is just one example of about 20 different styles of gift card holder envelopes. I think this was my favorite project by far. I've never used flower sprigs before this (although for some reason I had a whole box of them). It was super fun to use them with some Christmas cardstock I have been hoarding forever.
I also made a ton of different little goody boxes that we filled with yummy chocolates. These boxes are so fun to fill with different little treats. Some of the boxes I made to match the gift card holders and I gave them as gifts together.
This is one of the bag toppers for our cookies we made for our favorite preschool teacher. The toppers looked cute on bags full of candy too.
And finally, one of my favorite simple Christmas packaging ideas using brown bags, one of my favorite old stamps and some scraps of ribbon from a project a few years ago. I really like the simple, country look.
I made so many things in December that I just really loved. That's not typical for me. I usually like the idea in my head but not so much the final project. It was by far my favorite craft month to date. I had the mojo in December. Hopefully it comes back soon and I can get some cute Valentine stuff started.
