.earth1 (formerly Ultimate Safaris) was the ultimate host and partner. Some words of appreciation from our President, Terrie:

“I would like to thank Tristan Cowley and Jason Nott for their unyielding kindness and generosity. T-Up Vision would not have been able to reach 400 people, on the conservation land, without the above and beyond support from .earth1

From lodging and meals, to our Savannah (trusty truck), to have William as our guide, driver, translator, I feel extremely fortunate to be welcomed into this wonderful partnership, and look forward to next time!

Jason was my first point of contact and will be forever be Team T-Up, he wears the hat well. He visited us in the field and jumped right into the vision screening mix!

Truly, I cannot thank .earth1 enough. We made a difference, with much more to come. Let’s See.”

How we envisioned our process of visual assessment ➡️ the process in actuality!

Participants undergo the following steps:

1. Register for our records
2. Read an eye chart from about 10ft away, one eye at a time
3. Work through a reading chart
4. Undergo a test by the QuickSee which provides a prescription
5. Are provided with corrective eye wear if warranted!

We have had participants work through the reading chart before and after receiving the glasses, and a smile at the end says it all!

Follow to follow and support this journey!

While in Damaraland, we spent an amazing day driving from farm to farm in the Doro !Nawas conservancy. We were lucky to meet so many beautiful faces and learn so much from the community. Every person we have met has welcomed us with open minds and ready to test their vision!

Our time immersed in this space really reminds us that the need is real. Keep folllowing the journey to see more!

Let’s see! 👀

Our first few days in Damaraland, Namibia was a huge success. With the help of the amazing team we served almost 200 community members from the Uibasen Conservancy.

We had literal truckloads of excited participants! It was such a joy to see the smiles that clear vision can bring 🤓

Meet our third and final board member, Founder and Secretary, Olivia Manning! In the summer between her junior and senior years of college, Olivia spent time volunteering in rural Honduras, where she was exposed to the effects of a lack of visual heath resources. A passion for global healthcare was ignited, which, in combination with her familial connection to Terrie, led her to T-Up Vision.

She also spent time as Vice President of Communications for Delta Gamma at the University of Maryland, which has prepared her for all things social media and outreach. She is so excited to “see” what we can do!

Wondering how our logo was created? All credit goes to Elizabeth Hoffman, a former Stowe resident and friend of Terrie’s. Elizabeth and Terrie were on a phone call discussing logos and, with the help of AI, Elizabeth was able to bring her vision to life and generate our present logo. After a couple of weeks sitting in Terrie’s phone, she realized this little logo made her smile every time she found it. She shared it with Krystin and Olivia and mister logo made them smile too. Decision made.

We hope he makes you smile too 🤓🌍
