Watching the pregame shows today on the first Sunday of NFL football, a powerful story about from the and his “Hutch Heroes” initiative reminded us what’s truly important.
It’s incredible to see athletes like him use their platform to bring hope to kids battling cancer and other diseases.
Hutchinson honors young heroes by writing their name on his water bottle each week, carrying their strength with him onto the field for every game.
But he’s not the first, and he certainly won’t be the last. Recently Nixon had the chance to visit the and see a pair of gloves worn by legend . During his incredible 2018 postseason cycle, a record-setting day for him, Brock carried two warrior names on his gloves: James, a fellow patient at , and Nixon.
That day, Nixon and James were with Brock, running their way into the Baseball Hall of Fame forever.
Athletes like Brock Holt and Aidan Hutchinson are so much more than players. They both accidentally fell into a cause and by doing what they do bring hope, awareness, and strength to families who need it most.
As we kick off the football season and celebrate September as Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, let’s remember the heroes on and off the field.
