A good turnout of 19 riders from ABC and Medina Velo today to es**rt the “343” riders from Wellington to Medina Fire Station. On ~mile 2800 of their ~3500 mile ride from SF Bay to Ground Zero in NYC in memory of the 25th Anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks and the 343 firefighters that lost their lives that day. An honor to ride with this crew as they complete their mission to “NEVER FORGET”!!

It’s official the 4th Annual Coal Country Roubaix is happening Saturday, April 24, 2027, and registration is NOW OPEN!! 🙌

Get ready to return to Lisbon, Ohio for another unforgettable day of gravel, back roads, big challenges and the incredible cycling community that makes Coal Country Roubaix what it is. 💛

Whether you’re coming back for another round or taking on the Roubaix for the first time, 2027 is going to be one to remember.

As always, we have FOUR routes to choose from. This year they are 33 miles, 100K, 100 mile & the epic 300 miler. Routes will have lots of your same, favorite climbs you have learned to love, but each course has a bit of a change this year. Have to keep you on your toes each year!!

Also, new this year (as requested) there is a Clydsdale category!!

The "Bay to Brooklyn" crew starts their cross-country ride today in memory of the 25th anniversary of 9/11!! Members of Akron Bicycle Club and Medina Veloists will be meeting up with the "343" Riders (the # of firefighters that died in the twin towers on 9/11/01) on September 1st. We will be es**rting these riders from Wellington into Medina that afternoon. Everyone is welcome. Having done this 5 years ago... it's a memorable experience. The team is all together and we are ready to start this ride. We did a short ride to get familiar with each other as we prepare for the big ride. Day 1 which is August 2nd is here and we are all chomping at the bit to get started. Thank you all for following us and the support you provide to encourage each rider. In just the short time we have all been together, it is apparent we are here to fully accept the challenge of a 40 day event to honor the 343 and to "Remember the Weight of Sacrifice "
