Pack 24 Stoughton

Pack 24 Stoughton Cub Scouts! Do your best. Have fun doing it. Pack 24 meets at the Trinity Episcopal Church
414 Sumner Street
Stoughton, MA 02072 Cub Scouting is fun! Hiked?

No matter what grade you are in, first through fifth, it can be a blast. Do you like to learn by doing? This is just the place. You can learn to tie knots, set up a tent, shoot a bow and arrow (archery). Have you ever cooked a meal on a campfire? Sent a secret code to a buddy? Built a birdhouse? Played Ultimate? Earn rewards for doing these things in Cub Scouts. Cub Scouts Belong to Packs and Dens

. The pack is divided into smaller groups called dens. All of the Cub Scouts in your den are in the same grade. Cub Scouts Do Things and Go Places. Among the many activities that Pack 24 participates in yearly are hikes in the Blue Hills, a fishing derby, group outings to baseball and hockey games, the Klondike Derby, the Pinewood Derby(a favorite for many), and over night outings as well. Cub Scouts Earn Awards. Each time you complete an accomplishment or learn a new skill, you will be rewarded. Sometimes the reward is a bead or a patch. Sometimes it is a smile on your parents' faces to see you grow and learn. Cub Scouts are divided into groups called dens based upon their grade level. Each den typically meets twice per month and all of the dens along with their families gather monthly during the school year for a Pack Meeting.
• Tigers= 1st grade
• Wolves= 2nd grade
• Bears= 3rd grade
• Webelos 1= 4th grade
• Webelos 2= 5th grade

The den meetings typically start between 6:30 and 7:00 depending upon the individual den. The Pack meetings are usually the last or next to last Friday of each month and start at 7:00PM. Parents are invited to attend every Scouting event. Parents are most involved at the Tiger Cub level. The boy and his parent or guardian join the den together and attend all meetings and activities together. As your son progresses through the older dens you may drop him off for den meetings and certain other activities, but you are always welcome and encouraged to attend with him. Every leader is required to complete Youth Protection Training. Cub Scouts do activities and projects at their den meetings and at home working toward earning their badges of rank as well as other awards and patches. Among the activities that we have each year are Brockton Rox Scout Night, PBruins Scout Night, camping, fishing, hiking, Pinewood Derby, Holiday family potluck dinner, Memorial Day Parade and reflagging of Veteran’s graves.
