Our final Habitator of the Week for this semester is incredibly special. The mastermind behind it all, our President, Bella Donadio. Bella is a Management and Engineering for Manufacturing major. Her favorite part about Habitat is all of the members and their dedication to the community.

Bella played a pivotal role in our organization this year. Thank you will never be enough. She was always in two places at once, prioritizing what was best for Habitat and its members. Bella truly embodied what it means to be a honorary leader. It is because of her that Habitat can place another successful year under our belts. For going above and beyond, Habitat will forever be grateful for you, Bella❤️

A fun fact about Bella is that her favorite part of her morning routine is doing the New York Times mini crossword📰✏️

Another very special Habitator of the Week, our very own Fundraising Coordinator Zach Smola, the man, the myth, the legend. He is a Biological Sciences major here at UConn. His favorite thing about Habitat: “The chance to remind our members what college can really be if you’re willing to reach out and hold onto your community.”
Zach has contributed so much of himself to both Habitat and HuskyTHON, taking on the role as our organization’s Dancer Representative in the 18 hour dance marathon for the kids at Connecticut Children’s this past weekend. HuskyTHON is an event that touches all people, the kids, their parents, their siblings, us as students, everyone. It creates a family. And Zach welcomed our kid, Anthony, as a part of OUR family. Habitat could not have asked for anyone better to be the reason for Anthony’s smile.
As for Habitat, Zach works tirelessly day in and day out, organizing new and exciting fundraising events to raise money and bring a voice to our club. He gives our message meaning. Habitat would not be able to do what we do if it wasn’t for Zach, especially financially:) Thank you, Zach!
P.S. A fun fact about Zach is that he loves to try new foods and visit new places🍽✈️

A very special post for our very own Alternative Break Coordinator, Alex Amoresano! Last week would NOT have been possible without her. Habitat could not thank her enough for organizing the first alt break back since before the pandemic! We’re so very blessed to keep traveling the world and making a difference and it’s people like Alex that make that possible!

Alex is working towards a dual degree in Accounting and PNB. “My favorite part about Habitat is alt break and all the people I met on the trip this year. Not only did I love my alt break team (shout out Punta Gorda), but meeting the homeowner, other volunteers, and the site supervisor on our build site was so life-changing. Hearing their stories and why they choose to continue volunteering with Habitat inspires me to continue working to raise awareness for homelessness and substandard living conditions across the US.”

A fun fact about Alex is that she has gone skydiving before🪂

Habitat highlights Zachary Foster as this week’s 👏🏼 Zachary is an Accounting major with a minor in Data Analytics. “Although I have volunteered countless times between local farmers’ markets, high school productions, Connecticut River Conservancy, and Middlesex Land Trust, I haven’t been on any excursions with Habitat for Humanity yet. That said, I’m really excited to be co-leading Alternative Break this Spring in Charlotte County, FL.” Go Zach!!!

“My favorite part about Habitat for Humanity is seeing our team come together in good spirit to realize our collective power and influence on the communities to which we belong. Partaking in this coordinated effort to promote social welfare is a valuable experience.”

A fun fact about Zach is that he’s been brewing espresso nearly everyday since he was 14☕️
