Jesse Mejia is a professional speaker who has presented for fortune 500 companies including fortune top 10 companies challenging their leaders to think differently and boldly.

This event will be an adaptation of his acclaimed talk about how to stand out and be a leader within the workforce and among your peers at UConn, with an emphasis on diversity & inclusion.

It's integral to highlight diversity & inclusion especially at a PWI campus such as UConn. Therefore, it is our intention to not only inform, but to inspire and support marginalized communities to see themselves as the impactful leaders that they are. Aren’t they the cutest scholars?! SELF works to support quality education 📚 in both Spanish & English for children by donating internet service, scholarships and volunteering time to Big Dreamer’s School (BDS). Bilingual education is a rare opportunity in rural Honduras 🇭🇳! SELF volunteers recently spent a day providing students at BDS with dental education, a toothbrush, toothpaste and floss and working together on recycled art projects 🎨. Join the Incomparable Beta Iota chapter for our ! 🙏🏽 From 09/23 - 09/27 we will be fundraising for . SELF is an international nonprofit dedicated to collaborating with underserved communities to create sustainable solutions to everyday challenges in rural Honduras 🇭🇳. Throughout the week we will be bringing awareness specifically to their reforestation and education initiatives.

We will wrap up with our famous Lambda Bodega. (That’s right your favorite bodega is back in business 😏) So be sure to catch us in the PRLACC hallway this Friday at 12 and support your favorite Lambda chefs as we raise 💵💸for SELF! #ΛΥΛ @ UConn

The Incomparable Beta Iota cordially invites you to our Noche Dorada Gala! Join us in celebrating our accomplishments and contributions to the UConn community. It will be a night filled with speakers, food, music and dancing. This year’s theme will be “Celebrating Our Roots” in honor of our 10th year anniversary of being at the University of Connecticut. As an organization that values culture and traditions, we believe that it is extremely important to recognize and look back at those who’ve come before us and established the foundation of our roots. Our invited speakers and performance group will address this issue in different vocal and musical forms.
April 6th at 6:30pm @ Rome Ballroom
