Another Staff Development in the books!📖

It was a hot😎😅 but fun weekend🤣 (Don't worry, we had some air conditioning🆒😎)
We had a few old friends stop by and helped our staff prepare for course.👥

The staff practiced presentations📈 , played games⚽, honed their Dutch Oven cooking skills🍲, and even saw a turkey in the wild🦃.
The Staff is all ready for this summer's NYLT Course💯👍👍👍

It was a busy night across the council last night!🤯
There were 3 different District Awards Nights!🍔🍕🍨🍩😋

Anthony Fulton received great food at the Algonquin District Dinner. Donna Castorina, a supporter of NYLT received the District Award of Merit at the Mohican District Dinner due to her service to Scouting in various capacities.🥳 Our Staff Adviser, Jon Whitaker was even present to congratulate the honorees and welcome the new Field Manager!🎊 At Hudson- Delaware District's Dinner, many NYLT Staff were present to celebrate the honorees. James Dognazzi received the District Award of Merit and Pack Committee Chair of the Year and John Llewellyn received Assistant Cubmaster of the Year.🦁🐯🐻😯

To top it all off, our very own ASPL of Media, Johnny, received the Youth Transition to Adult Award!📸📰🗞️

Tonight some of our outstanding youth and adults were recognized at the Dutchess District Awards Night!🥳🎊🎉 Our SPL Derek was honored with the Youth Transition to Adult Award 🦅and his family was selected as the Scouting Family of the Year👏. Derek is a dedicated youth to Scouting. Bill Grove, adult staff, was the recipient of the District Award of Merit🏅. Bill has been active on the Training Committee🥓, volunteering at Eskimo Run🍲, and serving as an Assistant Scoutmaster for decades. Other honorees included supporters of NYLT like Aaron Tuttle who received the Pioneer Award for supporting Scouting for decades and always willing to volunteer for the program. NYLT Adult Staff Alumni Billy and Heleen Van Pelt received the Joe Wall Cheerful Service Award for their service to Scouting🎖️. Our very own adult staff members Andrew Check served as the co-host for District Awards Night🎤 and Jim Duffy helped hand out awards. Brian Colucci and Mark Check, supporters of NYLT, also helped hand out awards🙌.

This week, June 7-13, is the Greater Hudson Valley Council Summer NYLT Course Youth Staff Appreciation Week! (a regional and non standard holiday). This week, make sure to say Thank You to our amazing youth staff!

They take time out of their busy schedules to work together to prepare and create this upcoming amazing course!😎 They work on skits 🎭, songs🎤, presentations 📈, and for all the fun this summer!🎉. They are an amazing group of people who can't wait to train the next generation of youth leaders. We hope you get to meet them this summer!

This week (May 27- June 3) is the Greater Hudson Valley Council Summer NYLT Course Adult Staff Appreciation Week! (a regional and non standard holiday) Make sure to say thank you to the numerous adults that support our youth leaders.

Have you noticed that there are few adults in our pictures from staff development📸? Adults are present for each weekend, but they are there to help and support our youth leaders. This course is about empowering our youth and mentoring them to become fabulous leaders. Before the course you can find us preparing course documents📝, inventory📋, cooking🍳, napping😴, and more!🦉 During the course, we are present to help our youth in any way as well as providing supervision.

Congratulations🎉🥳 to all the Greater Hudson Valley Council Award Honorees at the past Council Dinner!👏It was great to see everyone's dedication to Scouting and honor the hard work and effort of our adult volunteers. NYLT even had one of their adult staff members and a product of this program, Andrew Check, receive the Venturing Leadership Award. Additionally, many of our NYLT supporters received awards as well, such as Brian Colucci who received Silver Beaver. The MCs were phenomenal with our very own Jessica Brighton, our Council Commissioner and NYLT Medical Officer⛑️🩺 providing a fun program🤣. Many of our adult staff members were also present to honor all of the accomplishments of our great adults. If you were curious, Anthony Fulton made sure to be first and last in the food line.😋🍪
