Yesterday afternoon Company 3 and Company 5 were called to report of a brush fire off of Courthouse Road. Upon arrival of Company 5, Old Hickory, found fire
in the woods. Company 5 members and Company 3 personnel extended brush lines into the woods and quickly contained the main body of fire along with a secondary spotfire. Personnel carried in additional forestry line and also multiple water packs to mop up the remaining fire. Great teamwork to all involved. Units on scene Brush 3, Engine 3 , Brush 5, and Tanker 5.
Fire was thought to be caused by target shooting into the woods. Fire has not been officially determined as yet.
It is still extremely dry so be very thoughtful in whatever you're doing.

To all Division 1 area Fire/EMS personnel,

Recently as you are aware VDFP Division 1 Chief John Fugman passed away from cancer. There has been debate as to his condition meeting the standards of an L.O.D.D. I am not here to debate this since entities larger than I are discussing this.

I am here to ask for your assistance in Chief Fugmans Memorial service this Wednesday. I am trying to put together those uniformed individuals and retirees that are willing to assist, into an appropriate Honor Guard to assist his family in his Memorial.

Chief fugman, not only served as the Training Chief for Division 1 but he was a long time volunteer for multiple jurisdictions in the Division. He has earned the right to these few honors that we hold sacred in the Emergency Service world.

If you are available please message me and please share this post to others.
I was once asked why I go and support so many funerals, this is the reason, someday I may need this assistance and I would want my Brothers and Sisters to stand for me. Today is that day for the Fugmans.
