Thank you for this important reminder today as we observe MLK Day. Martin Luther King was a radical who was murdered for his antiracist beliefs and actions. The murder of George Floyd and the actions that followed cannot be forgotten. This is a movement, not a moment. We must continue to take accountability, to educate ourselves, and to fight for an equitable and just world.

The Trump administration has been gaslighting us for the last 4 years. They have consistently incited violence and it has largely gone unchecked. We must continue to challenge the systems that allow this reckless power and start to hold these groups accountable for their actions. ✊🏽

These wrongdoings will not disappear when Biden takes over. This power is embedded into the roots of our country and it’s time that we replant and replenish. 🌱

The holidays aren’t always merry and bright. Let’s remember that some folks have lost loved ones, income sources, and their homes this year. Many have struggled with mental health and we must honor their experiences. There is no place for toxic positivity in 2020, so please refrain from telling your pals who may be sad this holiday season to “choose happiness” or “be grateful” for surviving. Embrace collective care this season, because we all are in need of some nonjudgmental support this December and beyond. ❄️

🚨Attention Suffolk County Residents🚨

Legislator-elect Nicholas Caracappa has been arrested for domestic violence charges and is refusing to step down immediately. Caracappa allegedly attempted strangulation of someone who held an order of protection against him. His case will be tried next month however we are demanding that he steps down from his position NOW. Caracappa is unfit to be serving as a legislator. Allowing an abuser to maintain their position of power is perpetuating r**e culture on Long Island. There is no excuse for abuse, . This Residents in the fourth legislative district deserve better! Stay tuned for direct action measures in the coming weeks.
