RSP Stony Brook The Residential Safety Program (RSP) is an organization responsible for maintaining the safety and security of Stony Brook campus.

The Residential Safety Program (RSP), a division of Campus Residences, was founded in 1975. It is a professionally run student-based organization under the direction of Daniel Soszynski, Assistant Director of Residential Risk Management and Program Coordinator of RSP. RSP's staff consists of over 250 dedicated individuals who are studying in the undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate programs of St

ony Brook University. The student based staff is composed of dedicated individuals who have made it their priority to provide safety in our community. By offering a walk es**rt service around the campus, RSP ensures safety to the students who do not wish to travel alone. To further our mission, RSP maintains a presence throughout Stony Brook University by having Field Units continuously patrol our campus. In addition, Desk Monitors are positioned at the main entrance of each residential hall during the night for the purpose of checking in students and their guests. RSP is designed to serve the ongoing need in our community for security on campus. The fulfillment of this need is one that requires teamwork and dedication.

General information

RSP employees patrol campus searching for broken doors, blue light phones, and any other safety concerns. RSP employees are also stationed in residence halls every night, and offer a walk service to anyone who requests one by calling (631) 632-9255. Our coverage area includes the residence halls in H Quad, Mendelsohn, Chavez & Tubman, Roth, Tabler, Kelly, Roosevelt,and the West, Chapin, and Schomburg Apartments.
