A heartfelt thank you to the residents of Stoneham, the dedicated employees of StonehamBank, and our wonderful letter carriers for making the StonehamBank Shred Day food drive and NALC Stamp Out Hunger food drive on May 9 such a success! Despite the rain, StonehamBank collected 65 boxes of food along with $515 in monetary donations. Our letter carriers also did an incredible job by delivering 145 bags of essential food! A huge thank you goes to our fantastic volunteers who spent the day picking up and receiving donations, dating, sorting, and boxing thousands of items! Together, you’ve shown once again what a caring and generous community Stoneham truly is.

In just 3 days, the Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive is back — and it’s never been simpler to assist your neighbors. Just place a bag of non-perishable food next to your mailbox, and your letter carrier will take it to First Church Stoneham Food Pantry. (With rain expected, it would be greatly appreciated if you could put your donation in a plastic bag, tied at the top.)

If you’re unable to leave a bag for your letter carrier, you can drop off items at the UPS Store located at 200 F Main St, at Stop & Shop (look for the shelves near the self-checkout), or at First Congregational Church from Tuesday to Friday between 9 AM and 1:30 PM.

We welcome donations of all non-perishable foods, as well as household and personal care products, but we do have a list of urgently needed items (below). Please remember that we cannot accept perishables, expired, damaged, or opened food items. Every donation, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated.

On May 9th, you have two great opportunities to support First Church Stoneham Food Pantry! StonehamBank is hosting its annual Shred Day at 80 Montvale Ave, from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM, where you can drop off documents for shredding. They will also be collecting non-perishable food items for our food pantry.

Additionally, the National Association of Letter Carriers is holding its yearly 'Stamp Out Hunger' food drive. We hope you can join in by placing a bag or box of food by your mailbox for your letter carrier to deliver to the First Church Stoneham Food Pantry. If you can’t leave a bag for your mail carrier or make it to StonehamBank, you can drop off your donated items at the UPS Store at 200 F Main St, at Stop & Shop (look for the shelves near the self-checkout), or at First Congregational Church St, 1 Church St, Tuesday to Friday from 9 AM to 1 PM.

We welcome donations of all non-perishable foods as well as household and personal care products. Please refer to our list of the most needed items. Please keep in mind that we cannot accept perishables, expired, damaged or opened food items. These two food drives are essential for keeping our shelves stocked throughout the summer! All donations, regardless of size, are much appreciated.

The pantry received an Amazon package which contains items not intended for the pantry. It seems that one of our amazing donors selected the wrong shipping address. Please reach out to us if it is your package to arrange to pick it up.

We’re looking for one person to join our delivery team on the third Wednesday of each month. Pickup at the food pantry is at 11:15, and the delivery route usually takes about an hour. Some of our neighbors live on second or third floors without elevators, so having a strong back and good knees is a must. A reliable vehicle is also required. If you're interested in this opportunity, please email us at [email protected].

A heartfelt THANK YOU goes out to the amazing students, parents, and staff of St. Patrick’s School for their massive food donation to the First Church Stoneham Food Pantry, a result of their annual Mini Golf fundraiser event.

The students lined our hallway with a hundred bags filled with the most needed items, a tremendous blessing for those relying on our food pantry services. We are incredibly grateful to St Patrick School for their commitment to supporting the food-insecure households in the Stoneham community.
