【Giving Tuesday 2025 – Let’s Celebrate the Longevity of Japanese/Japanese-American Seniors Aged 85+ in New England!】
Thank you very much for your continued warmth and generous support.
For this year’s Giving Tuesday, we kindly ask for your support for our “Longevity Birthday Celebration Project,” honoring Japanese and Japanese-American seniors aged 85 and older living in New England.
Many seniors in our community face language barriers, shrinking or dispersed Japanese communities, health changes, and weakened social connections — all of which can lead to isolation. We often hear comments such as, “There’s no one nearby to celebrate my birthday,” or “I haven’t spoken to anyone for days.”
In response, JB Line will deliver a special birthday gift during the birth month of each senior in New England turning 85 or older in 2026. Each package will include Japanese-themed items and a card with messages from donors. We hope these gifts will help seniors feel remembered and also serve as a bridge to further support, such as friendly visits or participation in groups when needed.
Our goal is to send gifts to about 40 seniors throughout 2026, with a fundraising target of $2,000.
Donation period: December 2–15
Cost breakdown: $50 per person (gift + shipping) × ~40 recipients
Even a small contribution will greatly encourage us as we launch this new initiative. Details on how to donate can be found below:
