Today at the Massachusetts State House, we stood together in recognition of Denim Day. đź’™

Grateful to stand alongside partners Melrose Alliance Against Violence
and Wakefield Alliance Against Violence—organizations doing important work every day to educate, advocate, and support survivors.

Thank you to Senator Jason Lewis, State Representative Michael Day, State Representative Kate Lipper-Garabedian, and State Representative Donald H. Wong for taking the time to visit with us and for your continued support.

Denim Day is a global movement that serves as a powerful reminder: there is never an excuse for sexual violence. What someone wears is never consent. It’s about challenging harmful myths, raising awareness, and standing in solidarity with survivors.

Proud to be part of a community that continues to stand together, speak up, and support one anotherđź’™

SAAV was proud to partner with Wakefield Alliance Against Violence and Melrose Alliance Against Violence this month to host a powerful White Ribbon event featuring keynote speaker Malcolm Astley. The evening brought together community members, educators, and students for an important conversation on violence prevention and healthy relationships.

Malcolm’s message was deeply impactful, turning personal tragedy into a mission of awareness and prevention that resonated with all in attendance. Students from Wakefield and Melrose led the White Ribbon Pledge, reinforcing a shared commitment to never commit, condone, or remain silent about gender-based violence.

We are grateful for the strong turnout and look forward to continued collaboration with our partners!

Thank you Raj Das ED Photography for the great photos!
