The Stone Mountain Community Garden is located at VFW Park and is operated as an official committee and program of the City of Stone Mountain and in partnership with the DeKalb Extension and Georgia Master Gardeners in DeKalb County. The Stone Mountain Community Garden (SMCG) was founded in 2009 and has been at its current location since 2011. The SMCG consists of 50+ individual garden plots which

are 4-feet by 12-feet in size, a composting site, herb garden, wildflower patch, and a food pantry garden. The individual garden plots are just that, plots managed and gardened by individuals. The food pantry garden is managed by our Master Gardener partners and volunteers, all produce grown in this area are then donated to the local food pantry. In the past year, the garden has donated over 1,000 pounds of produce to the food pantry. Gardeners are required to sign a yearly use agreement and pay a yearly $35 fee, and commit to volunteering a minimum of 8 hours of service at the garden per year. Money collected is used to supplement the running and management of the SMCG. Use agreements are due by April 30th of each calendar year. The number of plots is limited. Please contact the Garden Committee at [email protected] to check on availability.
