Yesterday’s Eid Literacy Fair sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 25007 (Roswell Community Masjid - RCM) was truly beautiful. These incredible middle schoolers first reached out to Ethaar back in January wanting to collaborate on a fun and meaningful Silver Award Project. Together, we brainstormed ideas and timing and decided on hosting an Eid Literacy Festival at Masjid Al-Momineen.

Over the past several months, these girls raised more than $2,000, and I was beyond impressed by their leadership, autonomy, and dedication every step of the way. They organized bounce houses, food, crafts, snacks, books, face painting, and even balloon art done by their fellow scouts! There were 200+ children that enjoyed the festivities!

Ethaar was honored to be part of such a joyful event. We prepared goodie bags for the children filled with pens, pencils, bookmarks, stickers, cookies, and of course, the very popular Gushers! Seeing families gather, children smiling, and the community celebrating together made the entire day so special. Everyone had such a wonderful time.

On Memorial Day Weekend, several of our amazing youth volunteers came together to assemble hygiene bags for families in our community. Each bag was thoughtfully packed with essentials including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, deodorant, loofahs, kitchen sponges, liquid soap, Lysol wipes, paper towels, and toilet paper.

Together, they lovingly assembled 48 bags that will be available to both current and new family clients based on need and availability.

We are so proud of these young volunteers for choosing to spend part of their holiday weekend serving others with compassion and generosity. Small acts of kindness can make a big difference for families going through difficult times. 💛

Join us tomorrow for a Literacy & Eid Fair at Masjid Al-Momineen!

When Girl Scout Troop 25007 reached out wanting to collaborate on their Silver Award Project, Ethaar jumped at the opportunity. These amazing young girls dreamed of hosting a community fair — and after 5 months of planning and fundraising, it’s finally here!

There will be food, bounce houses, crafts, activities, and more for the whole family to enjoy. Be sure to stop by the Ethaar table for a special treat for your kids!

We can’t wait to see you there!

We love when families bond over volunteerism. Longtime supporter and friend of Ethaar, Hera, rounded up her kiddos and kicked off summer vacation in the best way possible. Together, they collected funds, purchased food staples, and packed bags for families facing difficult times. They then dropped everything off at our office so we can distribute the items to families coming in for case management support as needed.

Moments like these remind us that compassion starts at home — and when children grow up serving others, entire communities are strengthened. Thank you, Hera and family, for your kindness, generosity, and heart for service. 💛

Following last week’s meat distribution initiative, Ethaar continued its efforts to support families facing food insecurity ahead of Eid. In hopes that families struggling with reduced SNAP benefits and limited incomes could enjoy a delicious, wholesome meal during the holiday, Ethaar purchased additional meat from Mid East Market to distribute to an additional 33 families in need the day before Eid.

These deliveries were made directly to homes to help preserve dignity and ease the burden on families already navigating difficult circumstances. For many households, especially larger families, access to fresh protein has become increasingly difficult as food costs continue to rise and benefits are reduced.

We are deeply grateful to Mid East Market for their continued partnership, generosity, and commitment to serving our community alongside us. Because of this collaboration, more families were able to gather around a nourishing meal and celebrate Eid with comfort, joy, and dignity.

Thank you to everyone who continues to support Ethaar’s mission of caring for vulnerable families in tangible and compassionate ways. ❤️

Eid al-Adha is a major Islamic holiday that commemorates the willingness of Prophet Abraham (Peace Be Upon him) to sacrifice his son in obedience to God. It is marked by prayer, reflection, acts of charity, and the tradition of sharing food, especially meat from a sacrificial animal, with family, neighbors, and those in need.

Eid al-Adha also coincides with the annual pilgrimage (Hajj) to Makkah, one of the five pillars of Islam.

Eid Mubarak to all those celebrating! May this blessed occasion bring peace, joy, and abundant blessings to you and your loved ones.

Throughout the month of May, Ethaar and ALIF Institute partnered together to collect toys at various locations and through online donations for families in need.

We then gathered our volunteers at ALIF Institute for a meaningful day of service and collaboration. A team of 30 volunteers worked together to sort and bag toys, thoughtfully organizing them by age and gender to ensure each family received items suited to their children.

After packing, volunteers personally delivered the toys directly to families, creating moments of joy and connection in their homes.

In total, nearly 400 toys were collected and distributed to almost 100 families — bringing smiles and happiness to children across the community.

A heartfelt thank you to ALIF Institute for their continued partnership and support. We look forward to many more years of collaboration in service to our community.

In an effort to support families who have lost SNAP benefits, as well as larger households living on limited incomes, Ethaar organized a special meat distribution initiative focused on delivering support with dignity and care. Instead of requiring families to travel for pickup, deliveries were made directly to homes to ensure a more personal and respectful experience.

Last week, Ethaar purchased 100 whole chickens and 100 pounds of beef cubes to distribute to families in need across the community. Thanks to the incredible generosity of Mideast Market, additional meat was also donated, allowing us to extend support even further.

In total, 58 families were visited, and each family received 2 whole chickens and 2 pounds of beef cubes, providing meaningful protein support for households facing food insecurity.

A heartfelt thank you to Mid East Market for their continued partnership and generosity, and to the three dedicated high school students who chose to spend their very first day of summer vacation helping deliver food instead of relaxing or shopping. Your time, effort, and compassion made a real difference in the lives of the families we serve.

Remember the amazing first graders from ILM Academy who sold handmade crafts and delicious food to help support Ethaar families in need? These inspiring youngsters raised an incredible $1,300!

Together, we used those funds to fill 21 bags with nonperishable food items along with fresh fruit for families facing food insecurity in our community. The bags were distributed that very evening, bringing immediate support to families in need.

We are constantly inspired by the compassion, generosity, and determination of young people who want to make a difference.

Do you work with children or youth groups and want to help empower them to serve the community? At Ethaar, we truly believe in the power of young people. Reach out — we would love to collaborate with you!

Special thanks to Emory St Joseph's Hospital of Atlanta for their generous donation in support of our recent hygiene drive.

Because of this partnership, we were able to include travel-size hand sanitizers and disinfecting wipes in each of our hygiene bags, helping ensure that families received not only essential supplies but also important items for health and safety.

We are truly grateful for community partners like Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital who continue to support and strengthen our mission to serve families in need.
