Village Forward, Inc is a non-profit organization with a mission to provide urban planning, educational services, and funding to the Stone Mountain Village Community. Our goal is to create a better quality of life by being a steady voice for change and growth in Stone Mountain Village. We need a collective voice that represents the advancement of all people .

We’re collecting supplies for Stone Mountain Elementary teachers and students at tomorrow’s Village Forward Wednesday! ✏️🎒

The school’s priority requests are #2 pencils, facial tissue and construction paper, with additional student essentials also welcome.

Tomorrow, we’re turning Village Forward Wednesday into a community supply drive! ✏️🎒

Village Forward is partnering with Kingdom City Church to support the teachers and students of Stone Mountain Elementary School.

The school’s priority needs are:

✏️ #2 pencils
🧻 Facial tissue
🎨 Construction paper

We’re also collecting additional student essentials, including toothpaste, deodorant, new socks and underwear, granola bars, crackers, notebooks and journals.

With approximately 65 teachers, our goal is to collect at least one needed item for each teacher and help fill a few additional gaps for students, too.

Bring one item. Bring two. Bring what you can. Every contribution helps. 🧡

Bring a friend, enjoy light refreshments, and spend the afternoon catching up with neighbors on one of Stone Mountain Village’s most beautiful porches.

Village Forward is turning 3 🧡

When we started VF, the goal was simple: create more space for community, conversation, ideas, advocacy, and real connection in Stone Mountain Village.

Three years later, we’re proud of the momentum we’ve helped inspire! From community socials and local business support to new events, volunteer energy, run clubs, crawls, conversations, and neighbors showing up for one another in meaningful ways.

This Wednesday, we’re keeping it simple:
come hang out, learn more about who we are, why we started, what we do, and where we hope to go next.

Then we’ll have turn up the music, fellowship, dance a little, and celebrate three years of moving the Village forward together!

We’re also using our anniversary week to support a cause close to our community. In honor of Julia, and in support of our friend, neighbor, and board member, Rebecca Carlisle, we’ll be collecting donations for su***de prevention throughout the week 🫶🏽🧡. The SMV Community Branding Flag was created through as part of a broader conversation around identity, placemaking, walkability, connectivity, and community pride here in the Village.

Village Forward Wednesday returns tomorrow 🧡🍻

This month we’re revisiting Stone Mountain Village’s previous parking study and opening up a broader community conversation around parking, walkability, growth, and the Village experience.

A few years ago, the City partnered with ARC on a downtown parking assessment that challenged some common assumptions about parking in the Village — and a lot has changed since then 👀

No formal presentation.
No long speeches.
Just good conversation, ideas, and community connection ✨

We’ll also share a few updates on VF Anniversary Week, Thursday’s Run Club sponsorship, and some of the community-focused projects we hope to support moving forward.

Lately we’ve been reflecting on just how much community momentum has grown in Stone Mountain Village over the last few years 🧡

New events.
New traditions.
New friendships.
New energy.

And while Village Forward definitely isn’t responsible for all of it, we’re proud to have helped create spaces where people connect, collaborate, share ideas, and simply show up for one another.

As we head into summer and gear up for our 3rd anniversary month, we’re excited to keep that momentum going ☀️

Today is Cinco de Mayo, and while many of us know it for the food and festivities, it actually marks Mexico’s victory at the Battle of Puebla, not Independence Day.

It’s a good reminder that moments like this can be more than just a celebration! They’re also a chance to learn, show respect, and better understand the cultures that make up our broader community.
