I AM A WRITE IN
My name is Marc D. Helwig, I have served as the District 6 County Board Supervisor for the past eight years. I grew up in the Hayward area, actually lived in Stone Lake until 1980. When I graduated High School at 18 years old, I enlisted into the Army National Guard. I spent two years in the National Guard, in 1982 I enlist to active duty. After 26 years in the Army I retired. Upon my retirement I went to work for the Sawyer County Sheriff's Department as a Jailor. After seven years as a Jailor in 2012, I felt it was time to move on. I then voluntarily drove people to their medical appointments. I volunteered working with the Birkibiner on and off for years. I was a Stone Lake Lions member until my duties as a Supervisor made it difficult to continue, I am still a Honorary member.
I have never had any sort of agenda. After working as a Jailor and working with Pat Sanchez, the Sawyer County Emergency Manager when I had volunteered in Americorp. I wanted to try to help the County any way I could with my past experience. I have been on the Economic Development Committee, I am currently on the Public Safety Committee, Criminal Justic Coordinating Council, Land Water & Forest Resources Committee, Public Works Committee and the Sawyer County/LCO Transit Board.
As a County Board Supervisor we all get calls, emails and text messages from our constituents. When there is an issue to be voted on I take all information and make my decision from the provided information. That is all we can do as Supervisor's, we do our best to do what we believe is best for the County.
I ask that you vote for me on Tuesday, April 2nd 2024.
Thank you
Marc D. Helwig
