This is a reminder that the HLA Annual Budget Meeting will be held on Saturday August 29th at 9AM at Rossi Hall rain or shine. The meeting agenda can be found on the HLA website.
At the meeting we will provide updates on association business and approve our FY28 Budget that covers May 1, 2027 through April 30, 2028. The proposed budget is attached - it maintains the current HLA Assessment rate of $825/year.
In addition to our budget discussion, the US Postal Service is proposing replacing our existing mailboxes with Cluster Box Units (CBUs) at their cost. This proposal represents what would be a massive upgrade to our mailbox area - providing mailboxes for all current deliverable addresses in the neighborhood along with 38 parcel lockers. Parcel lockers allow residents to retrieve most of their packages in the neighborhood at the mailboxes instead of the Mill Village Store. On the flip-side, once installed these CBUs become the HLA's responsibility to maintain and expand (if needed). No decision has been made yet - members will be asked to vote on the proposal at the August 29th meeting. An FAQ sheet with details of what's being proposed and the key considerations can be found on the HLA website. USPS staff will be at the meeting to present the proposal and answer questions.
