Several months ago, I began to feel a stirring—an unmistakable nudge to step back into some things I haven’t touched in years. Since then, I’ve been praying, asking the Lord all the questions: Lord, is this You? Is this what You want? Keep my heart pure. Make it clear if this is from You and not from me.
If you’ve ever been in that place, you know exactly what I mean.

I’d love to say I have every answer wrapped up neatly, but I’m still waiting on one final piece of confirmation before I step fully back in. Even so, this journey has led me to create something that I pray will help you in your own moments of uncertainty.

As I’ve walked this out—asking questions, taking notes, seeking wise counsel, studying Scripture—God nudged me to create a simple tool to help others discern whether a decision is a God idea or just a good idea.

My hope is that this little graphic helps you process your decisions biblically, prayerfully, and with peace.

In HIS love,
Cassie 😘

This Memorial Day, I’m reminded that freedom is never free. 🇺🇸

So many brave men and women gave their lives so we could experience freedoms we often take for granted — freedoms like gathering with the Church, opening God’s Word publicly, praying freely, and worshipping Jesus without fear.

Today, we honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice. Their courage and service are a gift none of us should overlook.

As we spend time with family, enjoy the beauty of this country, and worship freely, may we pause with gratitude — not only for earthly freedom, but for the eternal freedom found in Christ.

“Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.” — John 15:13

Thank you to all who have served, sacrificed, and carried the weight of protecting freedom. We remember you today. ❤️

We’ve been duped.
Maybe you’re one of the few who have avoided the lie, but my guess is you’ve probably fallen victim to it. How do I know? Because, me too!

While writing and publishing Chasing Jesus, my first devotional book, I was introduced to a popular book everyone raved about: Girl, Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis. At this point in my faith walk, I had never read a secular book. Can I pause for a moment to say that only reading faith-based books doesn’t make me super spiritual? It’s just my way of keeping my heart and mind filled with the things that are pure and lovely (Ph 4:8) as Scripture says. Our world is filled with junk, so I try to keep my books and my music pure! I need no help to be filled with nonsense…to my point—Girl Wash Your Face.
Many assured me that Hollis was a “Christian,” so it was all good! So I began reading, and as I read, I didn’t see it then, but it did something to my soul (Ps 24:3-4). There was a shift: my focus went from writing and marketing Chasing Jesus as worship to God to being very self-focused. If I do XYZ, then it will be successful. If I work harder, sacrifice my family time, and sacrifice time spent pouring into those around me, it will be successful. If I do more, take more writing classes, and throw in some marketing coaching, it will do well. I have the power to succeed or fail.

As mentioned before, I didn’t even realize what was happening at the time. That I was buying into an idea that you’ve probably never heard of. It’s the ideology called New Thought.

New Thought is a close cousin to the New Age Occult, with some differences in practices and beliefs. The New Age Occult is generally considered anti-Christian, extremely self-focused, and rooted in Hinduism and Buddhism. Its practices are pretty obvious to most Bible believers to be anti-Christ.
New Thought, however, is generally disguised as “Christian”. New Thought loves to take Scripture and redefine it. They replace words like 'God' with 'love'. They tolerate the very things God says are sin, they believe all people are inherently good because we are all made in God's image, therefore, we are God. And their truth is about feelings, not reality, so we can create our own and then tolerate everyone’s personal truth. New Thoughters believe Jesus was the example of goodness, the wayshower, if you will, but not the only way or the truth. On the surface, New Thought seems very loving and kind. Still, beneath the surface, it undermines the core beliefs of Christianity and places all its emphasis on self. It seems very harmless and true. Its self-focused ideology is ravaging the church in America. And while its claim is to bring us closer to God by being God, it’s deceiving us deeply and causing a great divide between The Father and us. New Thought is why Christianity seems so shallow these days. Because it’s being redefined into “my” version of truth/Christianity. It’s a false doctrine, and we are taking the bait!

Let me give you a startling statistic. This blew my mind.
Statistically, 85-90% of churchgoers in America have at least one belief that opposes Biblical truth. That’s insane. Imagine most people who walk through the door each Sunday don’t believe the entirety of Scripture.

Now, I realize some disbelief is just a lack of understanding. Or a lack of reading your word. It may not be intentional or rebellious.
Unintentional, that was me. I love my Bible. I’m disciplined in reading my Word. And I wholeheartedly believe it saved me from going all in on self-reliance during that time.

The wild thing about these statistics is that most of these anti-Bible ideologies come straight out of New Thought or New Age Occult. New Thoughters redefine Scripture to fit their own beliefs and lifestyles; anything goes because truth is within each of us. Therefore, we must love and tolerate each person's truth. New Agers don’t believe it’s an important book because it limits their self-authority. Again, you see how New Thought and New Age overlap.
Friend, when we dabble in these beliefs and practices (and there’s so much more I could say and will in time), it causes confusion and distorts the gospel—that Christ is truth, we need a savior, we cannot save ourselves, we are not God.

We are being duped. Like the serpent in the garden, it’s subtle. It’s packed away in the books we read, the music playing in our car, the bubbly gal on our social media who seems so free-spirited and loving, the podcast you’re listening to—and sadly, at times, the sermons you’re sitting under. There are complete churches dedicated to the New Thought movement—Trans men leading groups, children meditating in “kids church”, Scripture being redefined to scratch our itching ears (2 Tim 4:3)—this is real, and it’s really dangerous and deceptive.

So how do we combat these ideologies? We fight with truth and what Truth says. He’s the only thing that will keep us from believing a lie! And to clarify, Truth is not a thing; Truth is a person, the person of Jesus.

“Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”” —‭‭John‬ ‭18‬:‭37‬ ‭NLT‬‬

“Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”—John‬ ‭14‬:‭6‬ ‭CSB‬‬

There is only one truth, there is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus! If you believe anything other than that, you’re being duped!

As we land this plane, I want to say thanks for staying with me the whole way, and second, I want to leave you one last Scripture.

“When GOD, your God, clears the ground of the nations that you are dispossessing and you take their place and settle in their land, be careful that you don’t get curious about how they do things, saying, ‘How do these nations worship their gods? I’d like to try that myself.”—Deuteronomy‬ ‭12‬:‭29‬-‭30 ‭MSG‬‬

Sweet friend, please hear me, we are created in the image of God, but we are not God! We are at His mercy, we will face His judgment, and He will return for a spotless bride, one who is pure and devoted to Him alone. He’s not interested in sharing His bride with Buddha or any other dead idol or religious practice you think will make you happy. Jesus did not die to make you happy; He died to make you holy.

So if you’ve been duped. I pray this is your wake-up call. Don’t waste your life on a lie. Seek God while he may be found ♥️

“Seek the Lord while he may be found; call upon him while he is near; let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him, and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.”—Isaiah‬ ‭55‬:‭6‬-‭9‬ ‭ESV‬‬

This photo is full of answered prayers. As our children have grown, I’ve prayed—prayed that their weaknesses would be turned into strengths for the Kingdom. I’ve prayed countless hours over our children, as most mamas do, and countless hours over my husband and our marriage.

When I look at this photo, I see Wyatt, our oldest, walking in the boldness I’ve prayed over him since birth. I see the way he relentlessly pursues the people he loves who are far from Jesus, with the boldness of Christ in him—unconcerned by the opinions of others or the rejection that may come his way. My heart is full.

I see my Annie—a girl I’ve prayed would be secure in who she is. One who is confident not in herself or in what others think of her, but confident in Christ. Knowing she may not look like the world, and that’s okay, because she is dearly loved by the Father, and He calls her daughter. I’m watching her walk this truth out, and my heart is full.

I see Dustin, leading our crew, loving us the way Jesus loves His Church. I see him guiding us through life’s moments, whether good or difficult. He leads us with truth and kindness, and my heart is full.

I see my Ty Ty. I’ve prayed that he would be strong and courageous, and I’m watching him live that out as he continually combats the enemy’s lies that tell him otherwise. I see the way he pursues Christ without fear of man, courageously serving Him with all that he is, and my heart is full.

I see myself—full of joy. Not because marriage and raising a family have been easy (they haven’t always been), but because my joy doesn’t come from what we are walking through. It comes from the One who walks with me through it all. My joy comes from knowing my children are walking in truth, and from the fact that my husband loves the Father so deeply that he also loves the Father’s daughter—and he does it well, even when life is hard. My heart is full.

And friend, if I can, I want to encourage you— don’t stop praying. This may not be your story, yet. But God is faithful. Don’t. Stop. Praying.

“However, God has listened; he has paid attention to the sound of my prayer. Blessed be God! He has not turned away my prayer or turned his faithful love from me.”
— Psalms 66:19–20 (CSB)

Back in October, I started an in-depth study of the book of Revelation. I just finished today, mid-December. It's been one of the deepest studies I've ever done in the scriptures. Obviously, there's so much to w**d through. If you've ever attempted to read Revelation and understand it, you can understand why it's taken me nearly two months.

As I read the last few words of the book, verses 18-19 gripped my heart: "I testify to everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this book: If anyone adds to them, God will add to him the plagues that are written in this book. And if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share of the tree of life and the holy city, which are written about in this book." —Revelation‬ ‭22‬‭:18-19‬ ‭(CSB)‬‬

As I began to dig deeper, trying to make sense of this, I landed in Genesis, in the Garden of Eden. That's where the dots connected for me. The moment in the garden where Eve added to God's words and Satan took away from them.

"Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, "Did God really say, 'You can't eat from any tree in the garden'?" The woman said to the serpent, "We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden. But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, "You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die." "No! You will certainly not die," the serpent said to the woman." —Genesis‬ ‭3‬:‭1‬-‭4‬ ‭CSB‬‬

There it is in black and white, Eve adding to God's words and the enemy taking away from it. And then the fall.

Cool story, but how does this relate to me in my everyday life? I'm not out there with a sharpie or whiteout creating my own scriptures. True, but isn't that what we do with our lives and our lips so often?

Let me help us grasp this:
Adding to God's word = burdening God's word (Ex. "or touch it")
Taking away = softening or denying God's word. (Ex. "Did God really say?")

Friends, our interpretation of Scripture must submit to the text, not the text submitting to me and my cultural ideologies, opinions, or personal convictions. I don't get to determine my own truth of God's word. His words are faithful and true (Rev 22:6), and the way back to Eden, a renewed and eternal creation, is through trustful submission to God's revealed word in Scripture.

I could give you a list of everything I've discovered and believe about the "end times". But at the end of the day, most of them are my opinion because Revelation is a tough book to interpret. Not everything is black and white throughout its pages, and it doesn't need to be. I don't need my opinions burdening God's word or taking away from it by telling you some opinion I believe to be true because of the culture I'm living in. The point, the truth, is this-- Jesus is coming back.

I studied hard for twenty-two chapters and nearly two months, and at the end of it all, the truth is, timing doesn't matter, and it doesn't matter if or when there will be a rapture; all that we need to know is that the one who is called Faithful and True will return for His bride, and we must be ready!

"He who testifies about these things says, "Yes, I am coming soon." Amen! Come, Lord Jesus!" —Revelation‬ ‭22‬:‭20‬ ‭CSB‬‬
