Spirit Week is coming to PCA… and it’s going to be BIG 🔥

All next week, our campus will be building up to something special as students dress up, represent their houses, and get ready for an unforgettable Town Hall on Friday, April 10th.

Friday, selected students will be chosen as tributes and step into the arena for a fun, school-wide competition inspired by the Hunger Games. It’s going to be high energy, full of school pride, and something your student will not want to miss.

We’re bringing the excitement, the competition, and the culture all together for a full week of fun leading up to the big moment.

Get your student ready to participate all week long… and get ready to hear all about it at home 👀🔥

La Semana del Espíritu llega a PCA… y va a ser algo GRANDE 🔥

Durante toda la próxima semana, nuestro campus se irá animando cada vez más a medida que los alumnos se disfracen, representen a sus casas y se preparen para una inolvidable asamblea general el viernes 10 de abril.

El viernes, se seleccionará a un grupo de alumnos que actuarán como «tributos» y saltarán a la arena para participar en una divertida competición en la que participará todo el colegio, inspirada en Los juegos del hambre. Será un evento lleno de energía y orgullo por el colegio, algo que tu hijo no querrá perderse.

Vamos a reunir la emoción, la competición y la cultura en una semana llena de diversión que culminará en el gran momento.

Prepara a tu hijo para participar durante toda la semana… y prepárate para que te lo cuente todo en casa 👀🔥

Port City Academy’s charter has officially been renewed for another 5 years with a unanimous 5–0 vote!

Our families, staff, and scholars showed up and spoke from the heart about why PCA matters. The love for this school was felt in that room tonight.

Port City Academy is a place where kids learn, grow, make lifelong friendships, and discover they can do hard things.

Thank you to everyone who showed up, supported, and stood behind our school. The future of PCA is bright and we are just getting started! 💙🐾

Dinner with a Scientist was a powerful evening of connection, curiosity, and community. 🧪✨

Our families gathered for a night filled with dinner, hands-on science activities, meaningful conversations, and real-world insight from professionals who brought science to life. Watching our scholars ask questions, explore new ideas, and see what is possible beyond the classroom was a reminder of why experiences like this matter.

A heartfelt thank you to our guest scientists for sharing your knowledge and journeys so openly. And thank you to our families for showing up, engaging, and investing in your children’s learning.

Calling all 5th grade families and community professionals.

Join us for a special evening where students connect with real world scientists, engineers, and hands-on professionals through dinner, discussion, and interactive learning.

📅 Tuesday, February 13
⏰ 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

👔 Formal Event

💲 $40 per parent student pair
Includes dinner and science activities
🎟️ First come, first served

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Students may attend with one guest.

🔎 What is Dinner With a Scientist?
This is a family centered experience open to our 5th grade students and a parent or guardian. Students will enjoy dinner alongside a scientist or professional who will share what they do, explain their field, answer questions, and lead hands-on activities designed to spark curiosity and connect learning to real careers.

🧪 Volunteer Scientists Needed
We welcome professionals in fields such as:
• Engineering and Robotics
• Medical and Health Sciences
• Technology and Coding
• Geology and Earth Science
• Environmental and Life Sciences
• 3D Printing and Design
• Mechanical and Trade Careers
• Chiropractic and Physical Sciences

Volunteers will lead a 45 minute interactive activity with students and families.
