Eligibility cannot be purchased with money, power or influence. Membership is a coveted honor. There are no honorary memberships. History:
The Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United

States traces its roots back to 1899. That year, Veterans of the Spanish-American War (1898) and the Philippine
Insurrection (1899-1902) founded local organizations to secure rights and
benefits for their service. In Columbus, Ohio, they founded the American
Veterans of Foreign Service. In Denver Colo., they organized the Colorado
Society, Army of the Philippines. In 1901, Philippine Veterans in Altoona and Pittsburgh, Penn., started the
Philippine War Veterans. The following year, Philadelphia, Penn., became the
home of the American Veterans of the Philippine and China Wars. In 1905, these
three groups merged with the American Veterans of Foreign Service. In 1913, the American Veterans of Foreign Service was amalgamated with the
Colorado Society, Army of the Philippines and became the Army of the
Philippine-Cuba and Puerto Rico, then changed their name to the Veterans of
Foreign Wars of the United States.

VFW Day Of Service 2025- Memorial Day Ceremony

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who attended our Annual Memorial Day Ceremony at the Stockton Memorial Civic Auditorium.

It was an honor to have distinguished guest speakers, Mayor Christina Fugazi, Congressman Josh Harder, S.J. County Board of Supervisors Paul Canepa, Stockton P.D. Chief of Police Stanley McFadden and our Honored Army Veteran Ryan Casperson, who shared their inspiring words.

We are also grateful to our post Honor Guard Volunteers and our Post and Auxiliary Volunteers, who worked tirelessly to make this ceremony a memorable success.

The lunch and desserts were truly appreciated.

We are proud to serve our veterans and their families. We will always honor our fallen brothers and sisters. Let us always remember them.

Volunteers are still needed. Please help support a good cause.

We’re looking for dedicated volunteers to help support The Moving Wall as it comes to our community. This powerful tribute honors the men and women who served in Vietnam, and it takes all of us to make this experience meaningful for visitors.

We have opportunities for:
πŸ”Ή Staff Volunteers – assist with general event support
πŸ”Ή Readers – respectfully read aloud the names of those on the wall

πŸ•“ Staff shifts are 4 hours
πŸ•“ Readers: 20 minute shifts

Whether you serve behind the scenes or help bring the Wall to life through reading names, your time truly makes a difference.

πŸ‘‰ Check out the flyer for details and sign-up information.

Let’s come together to honor, remember, and support. β€οΈπŸ€πŸ’™
