Three years ago, we started with a simple goal: create a space where people could find their voice.

Today, Talking Tigers Toastmasters is a community of individuals growing in confidence, communication, and leadership—and we’re just getting started.

Join us for our 3-Year Anniversary Open House to meet our members, try a fun speaking activity, and see what Toastmasters is all about.

Your voice has a place here. 🐯🎤

Meet Talking Tigers President, Alyssa A. Wray.

Alyssa is an inaugural member and current President of the club. She is a valuable member of the team, keeping us on task and forward thinking. She often juggles multiple priorities, and if she were an animal, she would be an octopus. That way, she could live on land and in our beautiful oceans, have 3 hearts, 8 tentacles (of which 2 are arms), and she is already clever, smart, playful, and a die-hard mom. The colors and capabilities of an octopus are incredibly complex- kind of embodies her.

Come meet the team in person! We meet Wednesdays from 12-1 in the DeRosa University Center, room 211, on the Stockton campus of University of the Pacific. Be our guest and get to know more of our members!

Word of the Day Wednesday! 🗣💬

Insipid- Uninteresting, boring.

Our members at Talking Tigers seem to have a knack for inspiring and invigorating speeches; rarely do we hear an insipid speech or table topic. Nervous about the water cooler conversation being insipid? Be our guest and get feedback to help improve your conversational skills.

Talking Tigers, a Toastmasters International club, meet Wednesdays from 12-1 at the DeRosa University Center, room 211, on the Stockton campus of University of the Pacific. We look forward to seeing you soon!

Meet Talking Tigers Vice President of Membership, Ava Hammond.

Ava is an incredible addition to the club, with her witty conversation, love of academic culture, and approachable demeanor. If she were an animal, she would be a bear. Because, as she says, they can be cute and cuddly and they can also maul you. Moral of the story: don't take her kindness as a weakness.

Her advice for those who want to get better at public speaking is, "The hardest parts just getting up to do it." - Ava. Set your mind to it, follow through, and you'll see improvement!

Dont' believe it is that easy? We invite you to be our guest. We meet Wednesdays 12-1 in the DeRosa University Center, room 211, at University of the Pacific, Stockton campus. We look forward to seeing you!

Word of the Day Wednesday 🗣️📣

Riant- Laughing, smiling, cheerful

Our club values its culture, and many of our members' riant demeanor contributes to an open and encouraging place to learn and grow.

We would love for you to join us at Talking Tigers today at 12 p.m. on the Stockton campus of University of the Pacific, in the DUC upstairs in 211 (or virtually) , and try to fit the word of the day into a sentence.

Meet Talking Tigers Vice President of Education, Lucas Blaydes.

Lucas is an asset to the club with his tech abilities, vision for growth, and desire to help others. He is a lover of animals; in fact, he has a rat AND a cat, and yes, they get along. Lucas believes in a world that lives together symbiotically.

Though if he had a choice, he would be a lion. "I want to be top of the food chain, hunting animals in the prairies and sleeping the rest of my days away." -Lucas. You'll always be top tiger to us Lucas :)

Come meet the team in person! We meet Wednesdays from 12 -1 in the DeRosa University Center on the Stockton campus of University of the Pacific. We invite you to be our guest and check out the club. We look forward to having you next Wednesday.

Word of the Day Wednesday 🗣️📣

Truculent- aggressive or savage.

At this Toastmasters club, we aim for 80% positive and 20% constructive feedback, because truculent evaluation doesn't help you get better.

Join us at University of the Pacific's Talking Tigers today at 12 p.m. in the DUC upstairs in 211, and try to fit the word of the day into a sentence.
