🌳Have you ever noticed one of our planted trees looking a little yellow? Or maybe you notice one of trees is missing a stake? With our new “tree tags,” Urban Forestry will be able to directly respond to any tree maintenance requests. 📝

One side gives a little information about Urban Forestry, an individual tree identification number and the ability to scan a QR code to report any issues, provide comments or even request a free tree! 🌲

The other side will have information to educate community members about the type of tree they have in their very own neighborhood! 💚💚💚

PARK ACTIVATION WITH Trust for Public Land 🌳☁️💥

Little Manila Rising’s Youth Programs, Little Manila Youth Advocates & Little Manila After School Program are hosting their annual youth conference titled “🌼 Planting Purpose, Harvesting Hope 🌼,” which will feature workshops, community care, and powerful conversations centering youth voices in justice, advocacy, & healing.

Our team will also be co-leading a workshop with our partner, Trust for Public Land, titled “Park Activation: Re-imagining Spaces for Youth” 🌳💭💥. (Swipe to learn more about the workshop ➡️)

to April’s Spring Fling at ESY 🌷! We love Edible Schoolyard Stockton and hope to see you this Saturday, August 15 at their “Rooted Together Farm Festival” from 10AM to 2PM.

From debuting our tree leaf matching activity (handmade by our creative team) and planting trees in Downtown Stockton to hosting AND attending job/resource fairs, teaching Little Manila After School Program youth how to plant trees, and even making it on the news 📰

It was a busy time, and we’re so looking forward to another planting season 🌳🪏

SOFT LAUNCH 😶‍🌫️ — Last week, we officially soft launched a project that we’ve been working on for the past several months…

TREE TAGS 🏷️! Tree tags provide info about the trees our team plants and cares for including their species and how tall they grow 📏

More importantly, these tags will allow community members like you 🫵🏽 to stay involved in our work. By scanning the QR code* on the tag, passersby will be able to:

1️⃣ Report a tree incident (like a broken branch or leaning tree, for example)
2️⃣ REQUEST A FREE TREE (you can also do this virtually…just tap link in bio 😌)
3️⃣ Learn more about us

Meet Aguila, our workshop facilitator & team “Trust-Builder*”

*The “Trust-Builder” is an integral member of the Little Manila Rising Urban Forestry team. They work with climate-impacted community members to rebuild (1) trust with their natural environment, particularly trees, and (2) trust within themselves to be stewards of the land.
