We were honored to host a special salon event last week with board member Annette Stephens and Jim Cu***ng. The evening was a powerful reminder that the expansion of St. Joseph’s is more than just a capital project; it is a shared investment in the health and vitality of our future generations.

A building is made of steel and concrete, but a hospital is built on the dedication and generosity of its people.

At our recent Topping Out ceremony, we celebrated the progress of our new Administrative Services Building (ASB)—but more importantly, we celebrated our team. We are deeply grateful to every staff member who attended the ceremony to mark this achievement.

We also want to extend a heartfelt thank you to our employee donor base. It is a unique and powerful thing to see staff invest their own resources into the future of their workplace. The First Annual Nursing Research and Evidence-Based Practice Symposium was a resounding success!

It was a privilege to witness 70 clinicians and students from across our region collaborating on projects that will define the future of nursing. This event stands as a clear example of what can be achieved when philanthropy meets professional development. We are deeply grateful to St. Joseph's Nurses Society; it was the financial stewardship of their support that allowed us to provide this platform for innovation and growth.

Thank you to Dr. Jacqueline Medland for the keynote address, Kaiser Permanente for providing CEs, and our broad network of partners—including St. Joseph’s, Kaiser, Stockton Hematology and Oncology, Delta College, Stanislaus State, Sutter Health, University of the Pacific, Xavier College, and San Joaquin General Hospital—for showing up for the future of our profession.

Last week was Pediatric Nurses Week, and we spent the time honoring the heroes who make our hospital a place of hope and healing.

This year, our capacity to serve has grown alongside our team. We are proud to share that our pediatric unit has officially expanded from 10 to 18 beds. This transformation was fully funded through the power of philanthropy—led by our incredible partners at the Valley Legacy Foundation and supported by a group of generous donors who believe in our mission.

We officially kicked off the 18th Annual St. Joseph’s Fun Run/Walk for Wellness, presented by Pacific HomeCare Services!

A huge thank you to our hosts, Lisa and Adam, for a fantastic kickoff event. We were inspired by our incredible speakers, Dr. Singh and Sherry Thurman, who shared the vital impact our fundraising has on patient care.

This year, we are proud to be raising funds for our Tumor Board! Our 2027 goal is to raise $140,000 to provide the team with state-of-the-art communication equipment. This technology will allow our clinicians to collaborate faster and more effectively, ensuring the best possible outcomes for every patient.
