Attention all Stockton residents! We need your help to address the rising trend of violent crime in our community. According to the latest report by the Stockton Police Department, in February 2023 alone, there were 255 reported incidents of violent crime in our city, including 4 homicides and 189 aggravated assaults. Criminal homicide is up 25% from January 2023 to February 2023, including a 200% increase in forcible r**e.

We can't ignore these statistics any longer. That's why we're calling for a community meeting to discuss solutions to this problem. Join us on April 22 at the New Spirit Church at 2pm to share your ideas and learn how to work together to make our city safer.

Let's take action and put an end to the violence in Stockton. Together, we can make a difference!

In 2021, there were 143 opioid-related overdose deaths in San Joaquin County, representing a rate of 16.7 deaths per 100,000 population. This was higher than the statewide rate of 13.9 deaths per 100,000 population.

In 2019, there were 472 emergency department visits in San Joaquin County related to opioids. This represents 41.2 visits per 100,000 population, higher than the statewide rate of 33.8 visits per 100,000 population.

In 2020, there were 92 drug overdose deaths in San Joaquin County, representing a rate of 8.0 deaths per 100,000 population. This was lower than the statewide rate of 10.3 deaths per 100,000 population.

In 2019, there were 456 hospitalizations in San Joaquin County related to drug abuse or dependence. This represents a rate of 39.8 hospitalizations per 100,000 population, similar to the statewide rate of 39.4 hospitalizations per 100,000 population.
