INTERNATIONAL DEPARTMENTS
The Transition Team is focusing on consolidating the Teamster Department structure for more efficiency and direct member service.
UPS/ PACKAGE DIVISION
The Transition Team will focus on UPS and the Package Division for the next two weeks.
This is the single largest division and it will be restructured to provide more staff and more resources. The main focus will be laying the groundwork for a strong 2023 UPS contract campaign.
Sean O’Brien and Fred Zuckerman will lead negotiations on the 2023 UPS contract. Staff will be assigned to organizing members for a 2023 UPS contract campaign, and a “Panel Czar” will review the current grievance panel system.
AMAZON
The Transition Team met with Amazon Director Randy Korgan and organizer Sean Martinez to review the Amazon organizing plan and budget. The plan seems strong and comprehensive, Korgan will continue to lead efforts with International staff as the project continues to develop.
FIRST GENERAL EXECUTIVE BOARD MEETING
On March 22, the new General Executive Board will be sworn in and take office. The swearing in will be followed immediately by the first General Executive Board meeting. There will be no event around the swearing in and the new leadership team will get straight to work.
An inauguration celebration open to all members will take place later, likely in June. The date is still TBD as we will need to work with International staff to determine the details, and we will not be able to do that until after March 22.
