The Sun Stone, also known as the Aztec Calendar Stone, is an iconic artifact from the Aztec civilization that dates back to the reign of Moctezuma II, which spanned from 1502 to 1520. This remarkable archaeological discovery was made in 1790 at the southeastern edge of the Plaza Mayor, commonly referred to as Zocalo, in Mexico City. The Sun Stone is a massive stone carving, although it remains in an unfinished state, with impressive dimensions of 358 centimeters in diameter and a depth of 98 centimeters. This historically significant artifact is now housed in the Museo Nacional de Antropología, where it serves as a symbol of Aztec culture and continues to capture the imagination of people around the world.
