Boys and Girls Club Cooking Challenge!

Theme: Remembering the past, Celebrate the culture & Shape the future-Honoring Heroes Day.
Last Friday Boys & Girls Club (Vybz Engage) embraced our Jamaican heritage by cooking just like granny (grandma) used to-inna di black dutchie! It was a battle of skills and culture:

Girls presented: Crispy, golden Salt Fish Fritters (stamp and go) Just like granny's recipe! flaky, flavorful and full of heritage!

Boys presented: Sweet, golden Festival-the perfect partner to jerk chicken, soft inside, crispy outside!
The kitchen was hot, the vibes were high and our judges had a tough time deciding!
Congratulations to girls who narrowed the boys by just 2 points!

Every Wednesday our team climbs the hills of Spicy Grove and other environs, no road is too rough too steep. This is faith in action-not just preaching about mountains but climbing them. Carrying food, care, and prayer to families who need to know they are not forgotten.

Our staff walks where vehicles can't go, because love goes the extra mile. Just as Jesus said, if you have faith small as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain 'move'- and it will move. Today we declare over every family in Spicy Grove and Brown Hill -every mountain of lack, stagnation, backwardness, bareness, sickness and struggle MUST MOVE in Jesus name!

Mr. R. Young, IT Specialist and Miss R. Edwards, Social Worker.

Each week, the children in our Special Jewels After-School Program are engaged in different hands-on activities aimed at exposing them to real life situations outside of the classroom.
Technology Tuesday with Mr. Young- Building computer skills for the future.
Wellness Wednesday with Miss. Edwards- Empowering health, hygiene and confidence.

Career Vision Board Activity
Last Friday the youths (Vybz Engage) created their vision charts, mapping out their future dreams and goals. Using pictures, scriptures and positive declarations like '' I WILL ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS," each youth designed a chart showing what they want to become and what it will take them to get there.
The activity helps them to dream big, stay focused, and believe in God's plan for their lives (Jeremiah 29: 11). Be blessed.

Community outreach-Sharing the light.
What a great way to start the new season! Our team took to the Hills of Spicy Grove, going door to door and meeting families right where they are. Journeying together to bring hope and prayer to every home. Matthew 28 :19, We are called to take the gospel to others, not simple to wait for people to come to us. To God be the glory!

Our Community Fun Day on May 22 was a great success, bringing residents together at the youth center. Children enjoyed the bounce house and trampoline, while community members benefited from health checks and information from Jamaica National Bank and the National Council on Drug Abuse. A highlight of the day was the informative domestic violence presentation by the Jamaica Constabulary Force. We look forward to continuing these valuable community partnerships.
