SIX HOURS, FRIENDS!!! 😅
That’s how long I’ve been sitting in this very uncomfortable chair in my kitchen today, making phone calls to Angel Tree families about our upcoming Fall Camp!
Camp Bridgeway is a Prison Fellowship Angel Tree partner, which means we receive a list of kids across the state of Georgia who have an incarcerated parent enrolled in the Angel Tree program. Our team has been diligently reaching out to local Angel Tree families over the last few weeks, but today, I decided to do some follow-up calls myself.
Because... y’all... I WANT THESE KIDS AT CAMP!!! ❤️
Now, I know they won’t all be there. But goodness... if sitting in an uncomfortable chair for SIX HOURS helps even ONE of them get to camp, where they can hear about Jesus and experience the hope and freedom that only He can provide...
IT IS WORTH IT ALL!!!!
This is why we raise thousands of dollars every year.
This is why, three years ago, I quit my full-time career as a school counselor and stepped out in faith to build this ministry.
It’s for the ONE. ❤️
It’s for the child who wouldn’t otherwise be able to attend camp because their family simply can’t afford it.
It’s for the ONE who has experienced more hurt and trauma in their short little life than anyone should ever have to endure.
It’s for the ONE society may have labeled as “less than” because their family looks broken from the outside.
Every year, students come to Camp Bridgeway and experience a powerful touch from God. Some give their lives to Christ for the very first time. Others rededicate their lives to Him. For some, seeds are planted that we pray will continue to be watered long after they leave camp.
And through ALL of it... the prayers, the fundraising, the planning, the phone calls, the long days, and yes, sometimes the STRUGGLE (because it’s a struggle sometimes, y’all! 😅)...
IT. IS. WORTH. IT. ❤️
So tonight, will you pray for the families I reached out to today?
Will you pray for the ONE who needs to be at Camp Bridgeway this year?
And will you prayerfully consider partnering with us so we can continue making camp possible for kids and families who might not otherwise have this opportunity?
