Last night, Michigan voters had a chance to hear from democratic candidates seeking to lead our state.
Unfortunately Jocelyn Benson chose not to participate in the debate.

Debates aren't just political theater, they're an opportunity for voters to ask tough questions, hear competing ideas and evaluate who is prepared to lead.

When candidates skip those opportunities, voters are left wondering why.

Michigan faces serious challenges and the people of this state deserve leaders who are willing to stand before the public, defend their record and engage in an open discussion about the future.

Showing up matters.

🚨 Michigan’s New Automatic Voter Registration Change – Starting TODAY (June 1)

When you renew your driver’s license or get a state ID at a Secretary of State office, you are now automatically registered to vote, even if you never asked to be.

The state will mail you an opt-out form. If you don’t return it, you stay on the voter rolls.

Concerns for Election Integrity:
• Many people will never see the letter, toss it as junk mail or simply ignore it. Leaving them registered without their knowledge or consent.
• This pumps more names into the Qualified Voter File, including inactive, moved or deceased voters who slip through the cracks.
• Preregistration for 16–17.5 year olds adds thousands of future voters who require extra careful tracking.
• Mail-based opt-out creates “ghost” registrations that are hard to clean up later.
• Automatic systems still depend on perfect citizenship verification at the DMV, any gaps there directly threaten clean voter rolls.

Bottom line: This makes Michigan’s voter rolls larger and harder to maintain, increasing the risk of inaccurate records on Election Day.

Clean rolls matter. Accurate elections matter.

Today, we honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice secured the freedoms we enjoy as Americans and reminds us that liberty is never guaranteed.

On this Memorial Day, we remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice and we pray for the families who carry their legacy forward.

May we always strive to be worthy of their courage by protecting the constitutional republic they fought to defend.🇺🇸

While the Senate has been on multiple breaks this year including Presidents’ Day, Easter, early May, and now Memorial Day, they’ve failed to pass basic election integrity measures like the SAVE Act. A strong majority of Americans support requiring proof of citizenship to vote, yet the Senate prioritizes vacations over securing our elections. Time to show up and deliver. 🇺🇸
