2025 NDS Virtual Choreography Day

The National Dance Society (NDS) welcomes Choreographers to tell their stories through their works. Accepted works will be showcased during our 2025 NDS Virtual Choreography Day. The works are to be no longer than 7 minutes. You will give a short presentation during the showcase, prior to your work being shown. Q and A session will also follow.

Please include with your submission form https://form.jotform.com/240084901380046 a 2 minute or less excerpt video of the work you would like to have considered for this project. The video may be taken by a phone or other recording device and may include a work in progress or completed dance. Upload your work to YouTube as “unlisted” or to a Google Drive or Dropbox folder. Here is the form to fill out

I did a thing this week! I was blessed and able to give back some time and energy to my high school alma mater Westwood High school and The "Prancing Lady Longhorns". Thanks to the Westwood band director, LaDerrica Dillon and Prancing Lady Longhorns sponsor Dr. Kimberly Pearson for allowing me to pour into the girls this week. Thank you to Patrice and James Harris, Terris (TK) King, and Anthony Latiker (Slice of Soul) for contributing hydrating beverages, food, and donations for the girls. Thanks to my bestie, Angela Kool-aid Shotwell for letting me crash all week and for making sure I ate EVERY morning to keep my energy up! Baby I was around here dancing like I was 17 again 😆 Even though I'm sore as a hell...we had a blast and the girls learned a lot. SEE YALL NEXT TIME!.

The National HBCU Auxiliary and Dance Directors’ Association serves Coaches, Directors, student performers, supporters/enthusiasts and alumni of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) performance teams. We provide networking opportunities, professional development for high/middle school educators (particularly those in underserved communities), studio owners and HBCU coaches and performers. We facilitate immersion into the HBCU performance culture (Dance, Auxiliary and Baton Twirling) for our students and the community, exposure to colleges and professional performance opportunities for performers, and scholarships for performers and teams that assist them with academic expenses, as well as performance and operational expenses.

Our Vision is that we can inspire excellence in our performance genre by mentoring coaches, performers and those that support our membership. We strive to build student leaders, encourage community involvement, create pathways to future careers in the performance arena, and mentor the next generation of performance coaches to see our unique craft forward, as we represent our universities, schools, and communities.

This partnership is groundbreaking in that it allows Rebel Athletic to showcase its amazing offering to a collective group that thrives on innovation in performance, which includes our brand and image, while also maintaining our ties to our history and legacy. Rebel Athletic is known for the branding and images of some of the world’s most prolific performance teams. National Dance Society’s Choreography Day is in two weeks. Come and Zoom in to watch these wonderful groups present their work. You will have an opportunity to hear the choreographers talk about their work and be able to ask them questions. It will be a wonderful unique afternoon of choreography. Please register for $10 and spend the afternoon with us: Choreography Day 2024. Registrants will get the Zoom link within 48 hours of the event.
