Yesterday we were able to assist with the annual Veterans Fishing Expedition held at the Brickyard Fishing Club. The event was sponsored by numerous area businesses!

We are looking for new members to join our unit! We are a laid back group and the commitment level between meetings and events is very manageable/flexible. Our next meeting is Tuesday, April 14th at 6:00pm at the Stockbridge Community Hall (next to the fire station). We'd love for you to join us!

To be eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary, you must meet one of the following:

(1) grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct and adopted female descendants of members of The American Legion; and

(2) grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct and adopted female descendants of all men and women who served in either of the following periods: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918 and any time after December 7, 1941 who, being a citizen of the United States at the time of their entry therein served on active duty in the Armed Forces of any of the governments associated with the United States during either eligibility periods and died in the line of duty or after honorable discharge;

(3) grandmothers, mothers, sisters, spouses, and direct and adopted female descendants of all men and women who were in the Armed Forces of the United States during either of the following periods: April 6, 1917, to November 11, 1918; and any time after December 7, 1941 who served on active duty in the Armed Forces of the United States during either eligibility periods and died in the line of duty or after honorable discharge; and

(4) to those women who of their own right are eligible for membership in The American Legion

We would like to congratulate all of the finalists from our unit's annual Poppy Poster contest! We appreciate all of the Stockbridge School student's efforts and look forward to judging posters each year. A big thank you to Mrs. Aloria Saubert for her time, effort, and dedication to make this contest a success each year.

The Stockbridge American Legion and the Stockbridge School will be participating in a Veterans Day program in the school gym on Tues. Nov.11th at 10a.m. The community is invited to attend this program to honor our Veterans and their many sacrifices. The children and the band put on a wonderful program.

A big thank you to everyone who came to the picnic and stopped by for a great homemade dessert. We had a very successful day so thank you again. Thank you also to all the workers, bakers, and the color guard for the parade.

The Stockbridge Fireman's -Legion picnic is this weekend with the chicken dinner in the park on Sunday. The ALA will be sponsoring the dessert/pie stand again. We will have all homemade desserts and in addition ice cream sundaes and floats. Also a special slushie just for the picnic. Parade at 11 and food to follow in the park. Also celebrating Stockbridge Schools 150th Anniversary. See you all there.
