To Our Flying Doctors Family of Friends & Volunteers,
Today, I’m reaching out with a heartfelt request for one of our own.
One of our LMV volunteer families needs our help. For years, Laura & Jeff Grabow have been part of the heart and soul of our organization, giving so much of themselves through their service, leadership, generosity, and unwavering support. They have celebrated with us, stood beside us through challenges, and helped make our Flying Doctors community what it is today.
Now, they are facing one of the most difficult battles of their lives, and they need the same love and support they have so freely given to so many others.
There are countless worthy causes and requests for help, but I hope you will take a moment to read their story below and consider what these committed volunteers have meant to our organization and to so many of us personally. Whether through a donation, a prayer, sharing their story, or simply offering words of encouragement, every act of kindness makes a difference.
After months of Laura’s chemotherapy treatments here is the latest update from the family…
❤️“The roller coaster hasn’t stopped—it just keeps going. We have just returned from Laura’s first of 25 daily outpatient radiation treatments, which she will undergo every weekday for the next five weeks.
Our biggest challenge right now is transportation. The cancer center is 60 miles away, and Laura is currently bedridden. We are working hard to help her tolerate sitting in a wheelchair so that we can use a wheelchair-accessible van. If that isn’t possible, the alternative will be costly non-emergency medical transport by gurney for every treatment.
We are reaching out for help through crowdfunding to cover these transportation expenses and support Laura through this journey. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers, encouragement, and help sharing our story.”
