As you start to think about the new school year, we hope you'll take a minute to join the BVMS PTO!

The PTO supports the school in various ways throughout the year - student incentives, teacher grants, school spirit events, conference meals, 8th grade farewell, alumni scholarships, and more. A $25 donation covers your family for the school year. Additional Invest donations are always welcome, so the PTO can accomplish even more!

Just create a log-in on our website, update your family information, and add a Membership or Invest donation to the cart to pay online. You can order a Cardinals yard sign while you're at it and will be able to pick it up in the office when school begins.

Please, see the information below regarding a Candlelight Vigil to honor Sam Tun.

Please join us to honor, remember, and celebrate the life of Sam Wyne Tun. We will gather for a candlelight vigil with an evening of shared memories, reflection, and light.

Date: Friday, June 12, with arrival time of 8:20pm.

Location: The Mangano’s
3375 W 198th St. Stilwell, KS. 66085. You may park in the driveway and the side of the road surrounding, our home. Please then walk through gates of the driveway, to the backyard where everything will be setup.

Details: If possible wear white (or light colors). The color white universally symbolizes peace, purity, and spiritual continuity.

Candles and wax catchers will be provided.

There will be a table set up for sharing a special or funny memory that you’ve had with Sam. You may also write to the family. These will be provided to the family.

We will also have a microphone for Sam’s peers, families, or Blue Valley Staff that would like to share any memories of Sam.
Feel free to bring lawn chairs if you wish, the event will last around 30 minutes. Thank you!

The BVMS PTO is proud to announce this year's Reat Underwood Memorial Scholarships to two deserving Cardinal alumni. This year's recipients are Bryce Vincik and Parker Walley. They will each receive $1,500.

Bryce will attend Johnson County Community College with a focus in liberal arts/interaction design and social media marketing. After getting his AA degree, he plans to transfer to KU to continue his studies.

Parker is going to the University of Miami to major in political science on the pre-law track with a minor in Spanish.

The PTO thanks the Scholarship Committee for its commitment to reviewing the diverse applicant pool and providing their feedback. Volunteer opportunities to serve next year will be announced by the PTO in early 2027.

Congratulations, BVMS Class of 2026! You are now part of the BVHS Class of 2030. From a Cardinal to a Tiger, you are fierce, loyal, and focused.

One more day! And it's a half-day send-off. YES, you have to come to school tomorrow to get your yearbooks and have friends sign them. You can sleep in on Friday... ;-)

Our BVMS 8th Graders have their Farewell tomorrow. PLEASE PACK YOUR PATIENCE FOR DROP-OFF, as many families will be in car line and trying to navigate the parking lot to join the 8am ceremony for their 8th graders.

Wednesday, May 20th is a full day of school. The final day of school will be a half-day on Thursday, May 21st with a 10:50am dismissal.

7:35am Gym Doors open for Ceremony: Parents and guests to the Gym; Students report to the Commons

(Note: This is also the end of student drop-off time. Please park only in designated spaces - not the grass - and be prepared to walk.)

8-9AM Ceremony - BVMS Gym at BVMS

9-9:40AM Courtyard Reception and Family Photos Time

9:40AM Students change to Class t-shirts and start loading buses to Main Event

10AM Buses depart

1:30PM Students are bussed back to school

(2PM Early dismissal is only allowed when buses return to school; no pickup at the venue. Parents should fill out Google form sent by BVMS for early outs.)

3PM Regular dismissal

Our Blue River Elementary neighbors are having their 5th grade send-off tomorrow, Tuesday, May 19th in the morning. Expect congestion in the drop-off line for families trying to park.

It's a great day to be a ... Bobcat!

Can't wait to welcome them as 6th grade Cardinals next year!
