Dr. Mark Druffner, one of the founders of P4HT, is in Bwambo working with two new doctors, four midwives, and many nurses teaching ultrasound, infant resuscitation, fetal heart monitoring, and safe delivery practices . He is so proud of this group for learning brand new concepts and how quickly they caught on to some very difficult medical techniques and technologies.

Praise God for Marks great education that he can pass on to others !

When we arrived in Bwambo Village in 2009, there was a shell of a grade school, with a few desks, one teacher, and no text books. We now have a Catholic grade school, St. John the Baptist, with 300 students, a STEM program, computer lab, sports fields, a new school bus, and enough textbooks for everyone! The staff is fantastic and the direction from Fr. Beda Kiure and Mr. Petro Mngale couldn’t be better.

We are so proud of you all!!!

Our second Graduation at St. John the Baptist Academy! 17 students graduated and will go on to high school! This is a huge accomplishment not only for these students, but for their families and the entire community.

A huge thank you to donors for all you’ve done to make this school a reality!

We are getting ready to return to Bwambo Village, this time to inaugurate the new Church, the Immaculate Conception. This is the third large Church we have built and it’s so exciting to see it evolve. From the villagers carrying sand and water in buckets to make cement, to young men building scaffolding out of narrow tree trunks, to the windows being welded at our St. Joseph’s Workshop, everything is built using mostly local materials and labor.

The pews were all donated by our donors. One family donated a beautiful life-sized statue of Mary, and a Polish company donated some gorgeous altar linens for the occasion. Many of our Minnesota priest friends donated chasubles, candles, and Mass supplies.

It literally took a village to construct this beautiful beacon of hope, which can be seen for miles around.

I can’t wait to see the Church filled with people and excitement at that first Mass!
