This Memorial Day, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. ❤️🤍💙

For generations, members of FHA/FCCLA and Family & Consumer Sciences programs have gone on to serve their communities, families, schools, and our nation in countless ways — including military service. Since 1945, FCCLA has helped prepare leaders dedicated to service, leadership, and making a difference in the lives of others.

Today, we remember those heroes, honor their sacrifice, and reflect with gratitude on the freedoms they helped protect.

From the Oklahoma FCCLA Alumni & Associates family, we wish everyone a meaningful and reflective Memorial Day.

Homemade ice cream, s’mores, and FCCLA memories made the perfect ending to this year’s State Executive Council BLAST Off Training. ❤️

Brenda Parker-Tillian, a former FHA member from Kinta, Oklahoma, welcomed the Oklahoma FCCLA State Officers for their final night together and reminded us how special the FCCLA family truly is. Brenda served as an FHA chapter officer and loved Home Economics growing up. In fact, many of her family’s favorite holiday recipes still come from her Home Ec teacher.

Fun fact: Brenda is also the mom of Oklahoma FCCLA State Adviser Brittani Phillips!

That’s Etta — a future FCCLA member already attending FCCLA events, conferences, and helping her parents prep for CTSO activities. ❤️

You’ve officially earned your alumni status.

But remember… this is not the end of your FCCLA journey. It’s just the beginning of your alumni era.

The leadership, friendships, memories, and experiences you gained through FCCLA will continue far beyond graduation, and we cannot wait to see all the incredible things you accomplish next.

As you step into this next chapter, we hope you’ll stay connected, give back, and help support the next generation of Oklahoma FCCLA members as alumni.

Tonight, Oklahoma FCCLA Alumni & Associates Board Treasurer, Joey Vanek had the opportunity to have dinner with the Team 81 Oklahoma FCCLA State Officers! ❤️

This special evening was sponsored by Oklahoma FCCLA Alumni & Associates alongside the State Officer backpacks and other goodies to help kick off an incredible year ahead.

It was wonderful getting to meet each of the state officers, hear about their passions, and learn more about the goals they have for Team 81. Oklahoma FCCLA is truly in for a treat with this group of leaders!

Oklahoma FCCLA Alum Gus Avendano Begins Internship at National FCCLA HQ

The Oklahoma FCCLA Alumni and Associates is excited to celebrate Gus Avendano of Fairview as he officially begins his internship at the Family, Career and Community Leaders of America National Headquarters in Herndon, just outside of Washington.

A former Oklahoma FCCLA State Vice President of Competitive Events, Gus is a rising junior at Oklahoma State University, majoring in Human Development and Family Sciences. This summer, he will serve as the National FCCLA Conference Intern.

Congratulations, Gus! Oklahoma is cheering you on — and we know National FCCLA is about to get a little more “Okie” spirit this summer. Go Pokes!

We are proud to celebrate Traeton Dansby, a former Oklahoma FCCLA State Officer (Vice-President of Public Relations) from Kiamichi Tech Center in Idabel, who has been named STEM Administrator of the Year by the Tulsa Regional STEM Alliance!

Today, Traeton serves as the STEAM Programming Coordinator for Bixby Public Schools, where he leads innovative programming that expands STEM learning opportunities for students across Oklahoma.

This award recognizes Oklahoma educators and leaders who are driving meaningful impact in STEM education—including school administrators and district leaders who demonstrate excellence in vision, leadership, and student opportunity.

We had a BLAST at Champ Camp today! ❤️

Champ Camp gives Oklahoma FCCLA members who qualified for the National Leadership Conference the opportunity to present their STAR Events again, receive feedback, and fine tune their projects as they prepare to compete for GOLD at nationals! 🏅

A huge thank you to all of the Oklahoma FCCLA Alumni & Associates who volunteered their time to judge, encourage, and support our members. Your feedback and experience helps prepare our students to aim for Top 10 on the national stage!
