Stillwater Habitat for Humanity

Stillwater Habitat for Humanity Serving Stillwater families through affordable homeownership, volunteer engagement, and community partnership. Construction is underway on the next house.

Stillwater Habitat for Humanity (SHFH), originally named Payne County Habitat for Humanity, held its first meeting in January 1990, and was granted affiliate and non-profit status on February 10, 1991. Flash forward to 2010 and in just 20 years time we completed our 20th house. Our family partners are excited about their new home and are busy completing their sweat equity. We are blessed with many

volunteers, without whom, we could never accomplish what we do. In addition, we have a small commited staff who are working alongside our volunteers to eliminate poverty housing in our community. In 2010, we hired our first Executive Director who was tasked with taking us into a new era for Stillwater Habitat for Humanity. The faith community has been critically important to the mission of Habitat in providing spiritual, financial, and volunteer support. It is a goal of Stillwater Habitat to enter into covenant relationship with local faith groups committed to helping their neighbors in need.

What a fantastic day with CommunityCare!

Today, we had the privilege of partnering with the leadership team from CommunityCare for a unique team-building experience that made a real impact right here in our community. Despite the Oklahoma heat, their team rolled up their sleeves, worked hard, and successfully built TWO beautiful playhouses that will help support Stillwater Habitat for Humanity’s mission for years to come.

These playhouses will be used in future auctions and community fundraising events, helping us raise critical funds to build affordable housing and create opportunities for local families.

We are incredibly grateful for CommunityCare’s investment of time, talent, and resources. Their enthusiasm, teamwork, and commitment to giving back were evident throughout the day. It was inspiring to watch their leadership team collaborate, problem-solve, and leave behind something tangible that will continue making a difference long after today.

Thank you, CommunityCare, for your partnership, your generosity, and for braving the heat to help build hope in our community!

We are so thankful for our community partners who show up on a warm Saturday to stain the handicap ramp, power wash the sidewalks, plant flowers, and level dirt, trim, and mow in the new Pioneer Way neighborhood. Amazing people. Amazing community partners. Thank you again Stillwater Young Professions, Life.Church, and Daylight Donuts!

There are few moments more meaningful than handing over the keys to a new home.

We recently had the honor of celebrating a home dedication with one of our newest Stillwater Habitat homeowners. This home represents months of hard work, partnership, and commitment. More importantly, it represents a fresh start, stability, and a place to truly call home.

We are grateful to everyone who helped make this possible, from volunteers and donors to community partners who continue to believe in this mission.

If you or someone you know is working hard but struggling to find affordable housing, we encourage you to explore our homeownership program. You may qualify to partner with us.

Big thanks to our friends from Center Church for spending their morning serving with Stillwater Habitat for Humanity!

They washed the siding on our business office, power washed the sidewalks, and gave our parking curbs a fresh coat of paint. It’s amazing what a few hours of hard work can do. We’re grateful for partners like you who help keep our spaces clean, welcoming, and ready to serve our community. 🛠️🏡
