Our garden is growing beautifully, and we’re excited about how much progress has already been made this season. Beyond the vegetables themselves, our garden provides meaningful work opportunities for the individuals we serve, including planting, watering, maintaining beds, harvesting produce, and taking care for the space each day. So many love this work and take pride in seeing the results of their efforts grow week by week.

Our garden provides hands-on vocational opportunities, teamwork, responsibility, outdoor activity, and the simple satisfaction that comes from doing a job that matters.

We’re incredibly thankful for the support and encouragement from our community and partners, including United Way and Simmons Bank, who helped make this opportunity possible.

And yes… vegetables are coming. 🍅🥒🌶️

Stay tuned for future updates on harvests and how community members will be able to purchase fresh produce from the garden later this season.

We’re proud of everyone involved and excited to keep sharing the progress along the way. 🌿

Come out Friday, April 17th at Block 34 for live music, good food, and a great cause.

We’ll be running a pizza fundraiser, and all proceeds will go toward launching our new cardboard recycling program — creating meaningful work opportunities for the individuals we serve.

We had a special visitor hop by today… 🐰🌷

The Easter Bunny made a stop at MPower, passing out candy and spending time with each of our clients. There were lots of smiles, laughter, and a little extra sweetness in the air.

🌱 Now Hiring: Gardening Job Coach 🌱

MPower is looking for someone who believes that work matters and that gardening can change lives.

Our Gardening Job Coach leads planting, harvesting, maintenance, and daily operations in our garden program while supporting adults with disabilities as they build real job skills. This role is hands-on, outdoors, and deeply relational.

This is not just a gardening job.
It’s teaching responsibility.
It’s building confidence.
It’s creating meaningful work.
It’s showing up consistently for people who depend on you.

We’re looking for someone who:
• Enjoys working outdoors
• Can organize planting schedules and manage harvests
• Is patient, steady, and dependable
• Can coach, encourage, and teach job skills

Cooking with Kyle 🍳

While our participants cook a dish each week, we’ve recently launched something new — Cooking with Kyle, a monthly kitchen experience led by our kitchen manager.

This month, a small group prepared homemade goulash and green beans for everyone in the program. From prep to stovetop, they worked with focus, teamwork, and pride.

Cooking builds real-life skills, confidence, and independence — and the bonus is a pretty great lunch.

We are so proud of their hard work and the way they care for one another. 💙 Great job, chefs! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳
